Arjun Sarja Reveals What Vijay Told Him After Becoming Tamil Nadu Chief Minister

Arjun Sarja revealed Vijay remembered Mudhalvan after becoming Tamil Nadu CM and spoke about politics, fame, and their recent meeting.

Actor Arjun Sarja recently spoke about his meeting with actor turned politician Vijay during the promotions of his upcoming Tamil Telugu film Blast Zone in Hyderabad. The actor shared an interesting conversation he had with Vijay after he became the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and revealed that Vijay had also seen the many memes comparing his political journey to the classic film Mudhalvan.

Directed by S. Shankar, Mudhalvan was first offered to Vijay in the late 1990s. At that time, Vijay was still very young and reportedly decided not to take up the project. The role later went to Arjun Sarja, and the film became one of the biggest hits of his career. In the movie, Arjun played a journalist who becomes the chief minister for a single day and fights corruption in the system. Over the years, the film became iconic, especially after Vijay entered politics and eventually became the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Fans on social media started sharing memes calling him the “real life Mudhalvan” because he achieved in real life what he once rejected in cinema.

Speaking about their recent meeting, Arjun said Vijay himself brought up those memes during their conversation. According to Arjun, Vijay told him that when he first sat in the chief minister’s chair, he immediately remembered the story of Mudhalvan and the scenes from the film. Arjun said he felt proud seeing someone from the film industry rise to such an important political position. He added that becoming chief minister in the very first election contest is a huge achievement.

Arjun and Vijay had earlier worked together in Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, where they played brothers. After meeting Vijay recently, Arjun even shared pictures on Instagram and wished him strength and good health as he handles the responsibilities of leading the state.

When reporters asked Arjun if he also plans to join politics, he gave a humorous reply, saying people probably do not want him to stay happy. Later, he explained seriously that politics today is very different and requires a strong inner drive, money, and massive public support. Arjun admitted that he does not think he has the same level of popularity and influence that Vijay currently enjoys.
