The highly anticipated trailer for Siva’s action-drama Kanguva, starring Suriya, Bobby Deol, and Disha Patani in lead roles, was released on Monday, sparking excitement among fans. While the trailer provides a glimpse into the film’s epic scale and intense storyline, it intriguingly leaves much of the plot under wraps.
Suriya shared the trailer on X (formerly Twitter) to celebrate director Siva’s birthday, expressing his pride in the project. He wrote, “Incredibly proud of all that we have done together as a team, thank you, have a very very happy birthday dearest Siva!! Here’s our #Kanguvatrailer for you dear all!”
The trailer, which runs for 2 minutes and 37 seconds, opens with an old woman’s voice ominously hinting at the mysteries surrounding the island where the story unfolds. She begins, “Many mysteries lie scattered in this island we live in. But the most baffling of them all…” before the scene cuts away, building suspense. The footage showcases Suriya and Bobby Deol as powerful leaders and fierce warriors, suggesting that their characters will clash in what promises to be a gripping confrontation. The film’s title, Kanguva, which means fire in Tamil, is fittingly teased through the intense and fiery visuals.
Interestingly, the trailer refrains from revealing another key aspect of the story that has been hinted at in earlier promotions. A previously released poster showed Suriya in two distinct avatars a tribal warrior and a modern figure—but the trailer does not delve into this duality, leaving fans eager to see how this element will play out in the film.
Produced by Studio Green’s Gnanavel Raja and UV Creations’ V Vamsi Krishna Reddy and Pramod Uppalapati, Kanguva marks the Tamil debut of both Disha Patani and Bobby Deol. The film features music by Devi Sri Prasad and includes a supporting cast of notable actors such as Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Natty Natarajan, KS Ravikumar, and Kovai Sarala. With a massive budget and plans to dub the film into multiple languages, Kanguva is slated for a grand theatrical release on October 10.
The trailer’s mix of action, mystery, and epic storytelling has set the stage for what looks to be a significant entry in Tamil cinema, with fans eagerly awaiting the full reveal of the film’s narrative.
