The anticipation for Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, has intensified with recent updates about its star-studded cast. Fans were already excited about the involvement of veteran actor Sathyaraj, but the latest revelation that Kannada superstar Upendra will play a pivotal role has generated even more buzz.

Upendra is set to portray a character named Kaleesha, and his intense look from the film has been released, capturing everyone’s attention. The poster shows him dressed in all-black attire, adorned with red thread accessories and a black rosary, wielding a golden hook-like weapon. His signature hairdo and thick beard add to the character’s menacing appearance, hinting at a possible grey-shaded role in the action-packed thriller. Upendra himself shared the look on his official X handle, further fueling fan excitement.
Sathyaraj, who plays the character of Rajasekar, will reunite with Rajinikanth on screen after almost four decades, having last shared screen space in the 1986 film *Mr. Bharath.* The film’s ensemble cast also includes other big names like Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, and Soubin Shahir, though details about their characters remain under wraps.
Coolie is being produced by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Girish Gangadharan, editing by Philomin Raj, and stunts coordinated by Anbariv. The film began shooting in July and has since been one of the most talked-about projects in the Indian film industry.
