Amar Upadhyay, known for his iconic role as Mihir Virani in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, started his career with TV serials before briefly transitioning to films. Despite not finding much success in films, he eventually returned to television. Recently, fellow actor Ram Kapoor shared his thoughts on Amar’s career choices during an interview on Siddharth Kannan’s YouTube channel.
Ram Kapoor stated that he had advised Amar years ago not to leave TV so soon and venture into films, as he felt Amar had not achieved much success in the film industry. He pointed out that while TV actors like Sakshi Tanwar and Smriti Irani became household names, few people remember Amar. Ram questioned Amar’s decision to leave TV, suggesting it may not have been the best career move.
In response, Amar Upadhyay addressed Ram Kapoor’s comments by saying that he does not concern himself with other people’s opinions. He emphasized that Ram’s perspective is his own, and for Amar, the decision to leave a hit TV show and explore films early in his career was a choice he stands by. Amar mentioned that he has never regretted this move, viewing it as an important life experience.
Looking ahead, Amar is set to star in a new TV serial, and he is also working on a web series based on Mahatma Gandhi. In addition, he will appear in several Gujarati films.
