Actor Raja Chaudhary has spoken about his personal life and his strained relationship with daughter Palak Tiwari after his recent interview attracted attention. The actor claimed that he has not been in regular contact with Palak since 2022–23 and revealed that their relationship became distant after his separation from former wife Shweta Tiwari.
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Raja said that he shared a close bond with Palak during her childhood and was actively involved in her life until she was around eight years old. However, he claimed that after that period, their communication reduced significantly. According to Raja, now 26, Palak and he have spoken only a few times over the years.
The actor also revealed that he has blocked both Palak and Shweta on Instagram because he does not want to see their pictures and videos on social media. Talking about the emotional impact of being away from his daughter, Raja said, “When you have a kid, you are a different person immediately. I lost everything. Forget money and career. I am a father, and I have created something. This is my product. How is it possible for a man to be normal? That’s how alcoholism got into my life. Let’s drink and keep on drinking until you die. It was a risky decision I took in my life. I cannot spend time with my daughter; I cannot pick her up from school. Now she’s not with me.”
Raja also recalled what he described as his last meeting with Palak. He claimed that he invited her to his birthday celebration, but she left shortly after arriving. He said, “23 July 2022 or 2023 was the last time I spoke to her (Palak). It was my birthday, and she came to my home for a visit. She left in 10 minutes, saying she had work.”
When asked why she left so quickly, Raja suggested that a conversation about Shweta Tiwari may have made Palak uncomfortable. He said, “I invited her home. I’ll cook for you. Let’s celebrate my birthday. That didn’t work out. I just said, you could’ve come with your mother. (laughs) Possible, quite possible (that she was triggered by that).”
Raja Chaudhary and Shweta Tiwari married in 1998 and welcomed Palak in 2000. The couple separated after Shweta filed for divorce in 2007, and their marriage was legally dissolved in 2012. During the divorce proceedings, Shweta had made allegations of domestic violence against Raja, which he has denied.
