Ayushmann Khurrana played the boy next-door and real characters with élan in his past films like VICKY DONOR, NAUTANKI SAALA! and BEWAKOOFIYAAN. Now, the charming actor is all set to play an underdog for the first time in the upcoming film HAWAIZAADA.

Says Ayushmann, “This is my first hero film technically, wherein my character is not just portrayed as an underdog. He becomes successful and also experiences failures at other times. So, this is more a hero-centric film. Otherwise the kinds of characters that I have played till now were very real. This is a fantasy, though based on true events. It’s based on realism and myth but I feel like a hero.”

Also starring Pallavi Sharda, Mithun Chakraborty, HAWAIZAADA, directed by Vibhu Puri and produced by Reliance Entertainment, is slated to release on January 30, 2015.
