An announcement just in time for Bollywood fans: “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani” will return to theaters on January 3, 2025. Following what were sure successes with the re-releases of Kal Ho Naa Ho and Tumbbad, Veer-Zaara and Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein are also on that growing list of classics going back to screens at 140 PVR INOX Cinemas in 46 cities.
Karan Johar of Dharma Productions stated, “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani holds a special place in Dharma Productions. With the most breathtaking music, stupendous visuals, and timeless storytelling, what better way to ring in the new year than with a film that leaves you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside? We are extremely excited for Gen Z to experience it as adults while the Millennials relive their nostalgia.”

Ayan Mukerji echoed that sentiment while reflecting on the sheer amount of love for the movie. “This film feels like my second child. More than a decade later, I take an immense amount of pride in what we accomplished. It remains one of the biggest joys of my life, despite its fractures,” said Mukerji.
Originally released in 2013, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani has become a cult classic. The film carried an ensemble cast of Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Kalki Koechlin, and Aditya Roy Kapur that connected with audiences through themes of friendship, love, ambition, and self-discovery. Its iconic soundtrack with chartbusters like Badtameez Dil, Balam Pichkari, and Dilliwaali Girlfriend really is icing on the cake and has kept it in the hearts of fans of every generation.
With the film re-released, fans are preparing to relive the magic of the film on giant screens just like the new audiences can admire the charm of the film in the first place. Well, as Karan Johar said, ‘This re-release is a conversation starter for a clash of two worlds, and I think it is a perfect balance between the Millennial and the Gen Z’.
