Varun Dhawan’s Baby John tanks at Box Office! Day 8 collections are shocking Rs. 3 crore – What went wrong?

Varun Dhawan’s much-anticipated action drama Baby John, directed by Kalees, started 2025 on a disappointing note. Despite the holiday release on Christmas Day, the film failed to maintain momentum, with its collections showing a significant decline after its opening. Presented by Atlee Kumar, the movie initially grossed Rs 10.75 crore on Day 1, but struggled thereafter, managing just Rs 27 crore during its extended 5-day weekend.

The movie continued its downward trend post-weekend, with a meager total of Rs 31 crore after seven days. Even the New Year holiday failed to boost its performance, as it earned just Rs 3 crore on Day 8, bringing its total to Rs 34 crore. The lack of sustained interest has led to speculations that Baby John may not even cross Rs 45 crore in its full run. Experts predict a total global gross of under Rs 75 crore, marking it as a potential financial loss for the makers.

The film follows Inspector Satya Verma (Dhawan), alias Baby John, who lives a quiet life in Kerala. However, his peaceful existence is shattered when his past as a fierce cop is uncovered, leading him on a revenge mission against a powerful crime lord, Babar Sher (Jackie Shroff). The narrative delves into his fight for justice and the protection of women, but Baby John has failed to capture audiences, leaving its box office fate uncertain.
