Kanye West is in some heavy trouble after his former assistant, Lauren Pisciotta, filed a lawsuit against the artist in June 2024. The lawsuit accused the infamously inflammatory rapper of sexual harassment, breach of contract, and wrongful termination. In the months that followed, Pisciotta expanded on her claims of receiving drugs from West and subsequently being raped during a co-hosted studio session with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.

As the case progresses, new developments have emerged. West is reportedly “evading” court proceedings after leaving Los Angeles and relocating to Tokyo several months ago. Despite the gravity of the accusations, West has denied the allegations, calling them “baseless,” and has yet to hire a lawyer to address the lawsuit, according to *The Sun US*.
According to court documents, a hearing set for January 29 has now been rescheduled for March 27. Pisciotta hopes the delay gives his legal team time to deliver the lawsuit to West and subsequently obtain a default judgment if West does not file a response to the lawsuit. Pisciotta’s lawyers have already informed the court that they were unable to personally serve the lawsuit to West, despite an “extensive investigation” to track him down. They are now considering serving him through a newspaper notice.
In addition to that, there are other lawsuits that West is facing. Several former employees have brought lawsuits against him, accusations of workplace misconduct similar to the one he is currently being sued for, to contract-related disputes. His attorneys claim that West is most likely out of the country and then avoiding service at all costs.
West has lately drawn little attention to himself in Tokyo, where he resumed cohabiting with his children for the first time in a long time. He was seen ducking down selfie-taking fans as well while there. The Beverly Hills mansion West purchased for a cool $35 million not too long ago sits empty back in Los Angeles, although West remains abroad. The property is said to be racking up substantial monthly tax penalties, further piling onto West’s accumulating legal and financial woes.
