Former Bigg Boss contestants Elvish Yadav and Rajat Dalal have got embroiled in a controversy due to the racist remarks they made on their chat show, The Little Adda Company. Their comments about Bigg Boss 18 runner-up Chum Darang, known for her bold personality, have attracted widespread outrage.
In a viral video, Elvish seems doubtful about Karan Veer Mehra’s affection for Chum and even laughs at whether he had COVID. He further escalates the issue by making fun of Chum’s name and saying it is a dirty word. The clip went viral across social media with fans calling out their derogatory remarks. A user even tagged North Eastern ministers, urging them to take strict action against Elvish and Rajat for their racist comments.

Elvish and Rajat admitted that the people from Northeast India do face racism; however, the comments they gave did not make any sense considering this fact. Chum had previously spoken about the discrimination of North Eastern individuals, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic when they were being unfairly labeled as “coronavirus.”
The YouTuber Manu Punjabi also trolled Chum and added to the controversy. Netizens were already angry, and many slammed Bigg Boss and MTV Roadiesfor giving platforms to such people as Elvish and Rajat. A user wrote, “We hate when Indians face racism abroad, but what about the racism within our own country? @ColorsTV, stop promoting these racist influencers!” Another commented, “Shame on #BiggBoss and #MTVRoadies for enabling such toxic people!”
Despite the controversy, Chum Darang remains unperturbed and is currently enjoying family time in Arunachal Pradesh. She recently posted pictures from her trip and was felicitated in Pasighat, where she received immense love and appreciation from her people.
