T-Series bags Dhurandhar: The Revenge music rights

Dhurandhar: The Revenge sees a major shift in music rights as T-Series replaces Saregama! Trade sources reveal details of the deal and its valuation.

The official teaser of Dhurandhar: The Revenge (Dhurandhar Part 2) was unveiled today, instantly sparking conversation not just around the film’s scale and tone, but also its business dynamics. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the sequel to the Ranveer Singh-led Dhurandhar is shaping up as a significant franchise play, with its music rights deal already emerging as a key trade talking point.

While Saregama had acquired the music rights for the first instalment released in 2025, the sequel has seen a notable shift, with T-Series stepping in as the music partner for Dhurandhar: The Revenge, slated for a 2026 release. The change in labels raised eyebrows within the trade, particularly given the strong recall and performance of the first film’s soundtrack.

Initial market buzz suggested that the music rights for the sequel had fetched a figure in the range of ₹50–60 crore, placing it among the most expensive music deals in Hindi cinema. The speculation was largely driven by the franchise’s expanding scale and the robust response to the original film’s music, which emerged as one of its strongest commercial assets.

However, reliable sources close to T-Series have clarified that the final deal has been locked at ₹27 crore across all languages. The agreement is understood to be a comprehensive package that factors in not only music rights but also promotional and allied costs associated with the film’s release. Trade insiders point out that such bundled deals are increasingly common for large-scale franchise films with pan-India ambitions.

Industry sources also shed light on the shift from Saregama to T-Series, stating that Saregama’s agreement for the first part was structured around a fixed number of songs — a standard industry practice — which may have influenced the renegotiation for the sequel. As of now, neither the production house nor the music labels involved have issued an official statement regarding the deal.
