Priyanka Chopra Drops Bombshell on Citadel Season 2: ‘We Have Season 2, But…

Priyanka Chopra confirms Citadel Season 2 but is unsure of its future, while gearing up for her action film The Bluff on Prime Video.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas is juggling a packed global schedule, seamlessly balancing film and television projects across continents. While she prepares for the release of her upcoming action drama The Bluff, the actress is also working on her highly anticipated Indian film Varanasi, directed by S.S. Rajamouli. Before diving into these projects, she was spotted filming in London for her Prime Video spy series Citadel.

In a recent interview with Variety, Priyanka opened up about the future of Citadel, the ambitious global franchise backed by the Russo Brothers. She confirmed that a second season of the series is definitely happening but admitted she is unsure about what lies beyond that. “We have Season 2, for sure, but the rest? I have no idea,” she said candidly, adding, “I don’t ask. I go to work, do my job and I leave.”

Citadel made headlines as one of the most expensive television series ever produced, reportedly costing around $300 million for its first season. With a budget of nearly $50 million per episode across six episodes, the series faced high expectations. Despite receiving mixed reviews and criticism after its debut, it was renewed for a second season. The franchise also aimed to expand internationally with spin-offs such as Italy’s Citadel: Diana and India’s Citadel: Honey Bunny. However, both spin-offs were canceled after their first seasons.

Speaking about how she joined the series, Priyanka revealed her longstanding admiration for the Russo Brothers. “I really admire the Russos. They’ve been a big part of my career and my journey here. Joe just dropped the script on text one day to me. Literally on text. He was like, ‘Check this out.’ That’s classic Joe style. And here we are four years later,” she shared.

Beyond Citadel, Priyanka is set to headline The Bluff, an adrenaline-packed adventure film premiering globally on Prime Video on February 25. Directed by Frank E. Flowers and co-written with Joe Ballarini, the film boasts executive producers Joe and Anthony Russo, Zoe Saldaña, and Sarah Halley Finn.

In The Bluff, Priyanka plays Ercell Bodden, a former pirate known as “Bloody Mary,” who has left her violent past behind to live peacefully in the Cayman Islands with her family. But when her dark history resurfaces, she must confront it to protect the life she has built.
