Rohit Shetty appears set to extend his creative collaboration with Akshay Kumar beyond the filmmaker’s blockbuster cop universe. Industry buzz gathering momentum across trade circles suggests that Akshay Kumar has joined the cast of Golmaal 5, the fifth installment of the long-running comedy franchise led by Ajay Devgn. While the makers have yet to make an official announcement, production sources indicate that Kumar has reportedly allocated an approximately 18-day shooting schedule for the film.
The duration suggests a substantial role rather than a brief cameo, positioning him as a fresh addition to the franchise’s ensemble dynamic.
The casting further strengthens Shetty’s professional equation with Kumar, who entered the filmmaker’s action universe with Sooryavanshi (2021) as ATS chief Veer Sooryavanshi. The film expanded the Singham franchise into a larger interconnected universe alongside Ajay Devgn’s Bajirao Singham and Ranveer Singh’s Simmba. If the current reports hold, Golmaal 5 would mark Kumar’s first appearance within Shetty’s comedy franchise.
