Aditya Dhar’s film Dhurandhar The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh, is performing extremely well at the box office and shows no signs of slowing down. Released on March 19, the film has quickly become one of the biggest hits of the year and has even gone ahead of the popular Pushpa franchise in total earnings.
In just nine days, Dhurandhar 2 collected around ₹715 crore net and nearly ₹855 crore gross in India. The film has also done strong business overseas, earning about $30 million, which is roughly ₹285 crore. This takes its worldwide total to around ₹1140 crore. With these numbers, the Dhurandhar franchise has now crossed the lifetime earnings of the Pushpa series.
The first part of the film, Dhurandhar, was released earlier and had already collected over ₹1300 crore worldwide. Together, both films in the franchise have now earned more than ₹2447 crore, and the numbers are still rising. In comparison, Allu Arjun’s Pushpa The Rise had collected about ₹350 crore worldwide, while Pushpa 2 The Rule earned around ₹1871 crore. This brings the total for the Pushpa franchise to around ₹2221 crore, which is now behind Dhurandhar.
The film tells the story of an Indian spy named Jaskirat Singh Rangi, also known as Hamza Ali Mazari, played by Ranveer Singh. He goes undercover in a dangerous gang in Pakistan to stop a terror group. The film is packed with action, emotion, and patriotic moments, which have connected well with the audience.
The movie also features actors like R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and others who returned from the first part. Even though critics gave mixed reviews, the audience response has been very strong. The sequel was also released in South Indian languages, which helped it reach a wider audience.
Interestingly, Allu Arjun himself praised the film and Ranveer Singh’s performance. He called the film powerful and said it made him feel proud as an Indian. He also appreciated the direction and performances of the cast.
Dhurandhar 2 is still running in theatres across the world, and its box office journey is far from over. Fans are now watching closely to see how much further it can go in the coming days.
