Ajay Devgn’s Dhamaal 4 continued its steady run at the Indian box office by collecting an estimated Rs. 3.75 crore nett on its 2nd Tuesday. The comedy drama recorded a 15 per cent increase in collections compared to the previous day, showing that the film is still attracting audiences during its second week.
With the latest collection, the total India box office earnings of Dhamaal 4 have reached Rs. 128.50 crore nett. Directed by Indra Kumar and produced by T Series Films, the movie has maintained a stable performance since its release and remains one of the better performing Bollywood films of the year.
The film is expected to enjoy an uninterrupted run at the box office until the release of Spider Man: Brand New Day. Based on current trends, Dhamaal 4 is likely to cross the lifetime collection of Welcome To The Jungle within the next few days.
Trade estimates suggest that the film could finish its theatrical run at around Rs. 150 crore nett. If it continues to hold well over the coming days, it may also have a chance of reaching the Rs. 160 crore mark, although its final total will depend on how it performs after new releases arrive.
With its strong performance, Dhamaal 4 has emerged as a Clean HIT at the Indian box office. It is the 4th Bollywood hit film of the year after Border 2, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, and Bhooth Bangla. Interestingly, 3 of these successful films belong to established franchises, while the fourth is linked to an already popular film series.
Last year, there were discussions about audiences losing interest in franchise films after a few underperformed. However, the success of Dhamaal 4 and several other franchise titles this year suggests that well received sequels can still attract strong footfalls if they connect with audiences.
