Spider Man: Brand New Day continues its impressive run at the Indian box office and has now achieved a major milestone. The Tom Holland starrer added Rs. 10.25 crore gross, or Rs. 8.50 crore nett, on its second Tuesday. This was a 20 per cent increase compared with Monday, helped by discounted ticket prices on Tuesday.
The latest collection has pushed the film’s gross total past the Rs. 500 crore mark in India. It is the first Hollywood film to achieve this milestone at the Indian box office. When collections from 3D screenings are included, the film’s actual gross total has reached Rs. 553.50 crore.
The film has continued to show strong hold during its second week. Based on the current trend, Spider Man: Brand New Day is expected to collect around Rs. 130 crore during its second week. This could take its gross collection to around the Rs. 520 crore mark, excluding 3D revenue.
The film could go even higher if it maintains its current pace. Based on the numbers so far, it has the potential to enter the Rs. 600 crore gross club and the Rs. 500 crore nett club in India. Its final total will depend on how well it performs in the coming week, particularly with Batwara 1947 and Awarapan 2 competing for audiences.
The Tom Holland film has already been classified as an ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTER. Only a small number of Hollywood films have reached similar levels in India since Jurassic Park in 1994. The list includes Titanic, Avatar, The Jungle Book, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame and Avatar: The Way of Water.
The film is also getting closer to another major achievement. It has recorded around 1.7 crore admissions in India and could potentially reach 2 crore footfalls. Only Titanic and Avengers: Endgame have previously managed that figure.
