The official trailer for Camp Rock 3 has been released, giving fans their first look at the next chapter in the popular Disney musical franchise. The film is scheduled to premiere on August 13 on the Disney Channel at 8 p.m. ET/PT. It will also begin streaming on Disney+ the following day.
The new film follows the members of Connect 3, who return to Camp Rock after losing the opening act for their major reunion tour. Hoping to discover fresh talent, the band organizes an opportunity for the campers to compete for a chance to perform before them. As the competition becomes more intense, friendships are tested and new relationships begin to form.
According to the official synopsis, “When Connect 3 loses their opening act for a major reunion tour, they return to their beloved Camp Rock to discover the next big thing. As campers vie for the chance to open for their favorite band, tensions rise and friendships are tested leading to unexpected alliances, revelations, and romances.”
The film introduces a new group of young actors, including Liamani Segura as Sage, Malachi Barton as Fletch, Lumi Pollack as Rosie, Sherry Cola as Lark, Hudson Stone as Desi, Casey Trotter as Cliff, Brooklynn Pitts as Callie, and Ava Jean as Madison.
Several familiar faces from the earlier films are also returning. Joe Jonas is back as Shane Gray, Nick Jonas returns as Nate Gray, Kevin Jonas reprises his role as Jason Gray, and Maria Canals Barrera returns as Connie.
Camp Rock 3 is directed by Veronica Rodriguez and written by Eydie Faye. The film’s choreography is handled by Jamal Sims. The Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato are among the executive producers.
The first 2 films, Camp Rock released in 2008 and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam released in 2010, remain some of the most successful Disney Channel Original Movies. According to Disney Channel, both films are among the Top 10 highest performing original movies on the network.
The trailer also features the film’s first song, “One Beat Away,” performed by Liamani Segura and the cast. The digital soundtrack is scheduled to be released on August 14, while the vinyl edition will be available from September 18.
With returning characters, a fresh cast, and a new musical competition at the heart of the story, Camp Rock 3 continues the franchise with a new generation while bringing back several familiar faces for longtime fans.
