Pati Patni Aur Woh Do Takes a Fair Start at the Box Office

Pati Patni Aur Woh Do opens at Rs 4.38 crore on Day 1 as Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh’s family entertainer receives positive word of mouth

The much-awaited family entertainer ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh Do‘ has arrived in cinemas and opened to a fair response at the box office. Backed by T-Series and B R Studios, the film marks another attempt by director Mudassar Aziz to bring clean comedy and family emotions together on the big screen. Featuring Ayushmann Khurrana, Wamiqa Gabbi, Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh in lead roles, the film collected an estimated Rs 4.38 crore net at the Indian box office on its opening day. The start may not be extraordinary, but industry circles believe the film has managed to attract its target audience largely because of its light-hearted and family-friendly appeal.

Trade observers feel the film’s biggest strength lies in its simple humour, relatable family situations, and entertaining confusion-driven storyline. Audiences coming out of theatres have particularly appreciated the clean comedy and easy-going treatment, something that has become relatively rare in mainstream commercial cinema. Performances from the lead cast too have received positive feedback, helping the film generate encouraging word-of-mouth.

With summer vacations currently underway across many parts of the country, exhibitors are hopeful that family audiences will continue to turn up over the weekend. The genre and tone of the film are expected to work in its favour, especially in urban centres and multiplex circuits where wholesome entertainers often witness steady growth after release.

Presented by T-Series and B R Studios, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Renu Ravi Chopra and Krishan Kumar, with creative production by Juno Chopra. The film is now running in cinemas across India.
