Ram Charan’s Peddi Crosses ₹190 Crore Worldwide In Just 2 Days

Ram Charan’s Peddi earned ₹190 to ₹195 crore worldwide in 2 days, while discussions continue around controversial scenes involving Janhvi Kapoor.

Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana and starring Ram Charan in the lead role, has made a strong start at the global box office. The sports drama, which also features Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar and several other actors, was released on June 4, 2026, after holding paid preview shows.

According to early estimates, the film has grossed between ₹190 crore and ₹195 crore worldwide within its first 2 days of release. The movie recorded an impressive opening, earning around ₹112 crore on Day 1. A large portion of these collections came from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where the film received a strong response from audiences. International markets, particularly North America and the GCC region, also contributed significantly to the film’s early success.

The movie has received positive reactions for Ram Charan’s performance, with many viewers and critics praising his portrayal of the title character. His physical transformation, intense screen presence and athletic sequences have been highlighted as some of the film’s strongest aspects. The action scenes and the sports drama elements have also received appreciation from audiences.

Apart from its box office success, Peddi has also found itself at the centre of a debate on social media. Some viewers criticised certain scenes involving Janhvi Kapoor, arguing that they were unnecessarily sexualised. Particular attention was drawn to a scene that some audience members described as involving a non consensual kiss.

Following the criticism, director Buchi Babu Sana addressed the issue on June 6. He apologised to viewers who were uncomfortable with the scenes and reportedly assured audiences that changes would be made. The filmmaker also reiterated his commitment to portraying women respectfully in his work.

Despite the controversy, the film continues to benefit from positive word of mouth. Many viewers have responded favourably to its emotional storytelling, action sequences and themes centred on sports, determination and village pride. These factors have helped maintain strong audience interest during the opening days of its theatrical run.

With impressive box office numbers already recorded and audience interest remaining high, Peddi is continuing its successful run in theatres. Industry observers will now be watching closely to see whether the film can maintain its momentum in the coming days and set new benchmarks for Telugu cinema releases in 2026.
