Mouni Roy Brings Gujarati Patola Glamour To Cannes 2026 Red Carpet

Mouni Roy grabbed attention at Cannes 2026 in a Gujarati Patola inspired gown featuring 300 hours of embroidery work by Indian artisans.

After making a bold appearance in an all black outfit earlier at Cannes 2026, Mouni Roy returned to the red carpet with a completely different fashion statement. This time, the actress chose to showcase Indian craftsmanship through a modern outfit inspired by Gujarat’s famous Patola textile tradition.

Mouni attended the event while unveiling the poster and teaser of her upcoming film at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. While the film announcement drew attention, it was her outfit that became one of the major highlights of her appearance.

For the occasion, Mouni wore a backless gown designed by The House of Patola. The outfit featured a sleeveless design with a square neckline and a fitted silhouette that extended into a long train at the back. Instead of choosing a traditional red carpet gown, the actress opted for a look that blended Indian heritage with contemporary fashion.

The gown stood out because of its detailed multicoloured Patola inspired embroidery spread across the entire outfit. The intricate work added depth and texture to the gown while highlighting traditional Indian textile art in a modern form.

Mouni later shared that the outfit involved nearly 300 hours of embroidery work completed by artisans. Her appearance also brought attention to Indian handmade craftsmanship on an international platform.

Keeping the styling simple, the actress paired the gown with white strappy heels and cocktail rings. Her makeup featured kohl lined eyes, winged eyeliner, rosy cheeks and soft pink lips. She left her hair open in loose side parted waves, giving the heavily embroidered outfit a balanced and elegant finish.

Earlier during her Cannes 2026 appearances, Mouni had chosen a completely different style. For her first outing at the festival, she wore a black and white mini dress with a halter style collar and structured lapels.

She completed that look with an oversized black trench coat draped over her shoulders along with patterned sheer stockings and pointed leather boots. The sharp monochrome styling created a strong contrast to her later appearance in the colourful Patola inspired ensemble.

With her latest look, Mouni once again highlighted how traditional Indian textiles can be presented in modern global fashion spaces like Cannes.
