Ananya Panday, despite being the daughter of actor Chunky Panday, recently revealed that she rarely watched his films when she was younger. She shared a candid moment from her childhood during an interview with the YouTube channel We Are Yuvaa, explaining how the frequent on-screen deaths of her father’s characters left her traumatized.
Ananya recalled watching D Company, where Chunky’s character was shot and died in the film, and even though he was sitting next to her, she thought his death was real. This fear of her father’s character dying in every movie led her to avoid watching many of his films.
Chunky Panday, reflecting on his early career, humorously mentioned that his characters often met tragic ends. He even joked that the success of the film often depended on his character’s death, with producers insisting on it. He recalled feeling strange and sad the first time he saw his character die on-screen in Paap Ki Duniya, a moment that was hard for him to get used to.
On the professional front, Ananya is keeping busy with a series of upcoming projects. She was last seen in CTRL and is set to appear in Chand Mera Dil with Lakshya, and has also begun filming the second season of *Call Me Bae*. Additionally, she will star in an untitled Dharma Productions film alongside Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan. Chunky Panday, meanwhile, will be seen in Housefull 5.
