Bollywood record-breakers of 2013

It has been a record-breaking year. Well, quite literally! With every biggie making it to the box-office, we saw some new mile stones being created during the year. It was a sheer rejoice for Bollywood this year with each film shattering the other film's record, despite the absence of Box-office spinner Salman Khan! Let's peak into Bollywood's top grossers of the year.

CHENNAI EXPRESS: This Rohit Shetty directed Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer was certainly anticipated to do good business but it surpassed all the expectations and created an altogether new record in the history of Indian Cinema!

YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI: Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone's Ayan Mukerji directed romantic flick YJHD emerged as one of the biggest grosser of the year. Its chartbusting songs and Ranbir-Deepika's hit pairing with the backing of Karan Johar's Dharma Productions all worked well for the film.

KRRISH 3: Like a true-blue superhero Hrithik Roshan's Rakesh Roshan directed KRRISH 3, sequel to KOI MIL GAYA and KRRISH, smashed all the records at the Box-office. In fact, it went to break the records set by the three ruling Khans of Bollywood – Shahrukh, Salman and Aamir.

BHAAG MILKHA BHAAG: Farhan Akhtar's biopic film BHAAG MILKHA BHAAG not only won over the audience but it also did good business at the Box-office and emerged as the third highest grossing film of the Bollywood. The movie grossed Rs 102 crore net in 24 days.

GRAND MASTI:This Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi & Aftab Shivdasani starrer, which was shunned from the critics, was lapped up by the audience and it went to rake in moolah at the Box-office. Despite being criticized for its offensive content, the film went on to become the highest grossing film of the year and making it to 100 cr club.

RACE 2: Sequel to RACE, the Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan starrer was the first big hit of 2013. The film got mixed response from the critics but garnered good amount at the Box-office. The Abbas-Mustan directed film did close to 100 cr business.

GOLIYON KI RASLEELA RAM-LEELA: Sanjay Leela Bhansali's yet another magnum opus starring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh was bound to be a superhit film and set the cash registers ringing in at the ticket window. And as expected it did so!

AASHIQUI 2: Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor tasted stardom with Mohit Suri directed AASHIQUI 2, sequel to 1990 musical blockbuster AASHIQUI. Not only the music even the film became a huge hit among the masses. It surprised one & all as it entered the 100 cr club and earned its HIT status.

DHOOM 3: Although the Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra starrer is yet to hit the screens, the sequel of DHOOM series is touted among the trade circle and audiences alike to end 2013 on a blockbuster note. Well, the film has already sold its satellite rights for 75 crores. So expect another record-breaker on its way!
