Vicky Kaushal is generating excitement with his upcoming epic action-drama Chhaava, where he portrays the legendary Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Sambhaji. The teaser for the film, released on August 19, has already sparked significant interest, particularly due to Vicky’s bold comparison of Chhatrapati Shivaji, Sambhaji’s father, to the fictional superheroes of the West during the trailer launch event.

At the media interaction, Vicky emphasized the unparalleled heroism of figures like Chhatrapati Shivaji in Indian history. He remarked, “When delving into India’s history, one can find numerous superheroes such as Sambhaji and Chhatrapati Shivaji. These individuals surpass all fictional superheroes. It’s crucial to share their tales and honor their legacy. The West lacks such superheroes, so they have to make Avengers. We have real superheroes in India.” This statement resonated with many fans, who took to social media to express their admiration. One fan commented, “Vicky your acting skills (fire emojis). I don’t think anyone can beat you,” while another praised his comment as “the best statement ever.”

Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava boasts a strong ensemble cast, including Rashmika Mandanna as Yesubai Bhonsale, Ashutosh Rana as Sarsenapati Hambirao Mohite, Divya Dutta as Soyarabai, Neil Bhoopalam, and Santosh Juvekar in significant roles. The film, produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, is a much-anticipated period saga that delves into the rich history and legacy of the Maratha Empire.
