The incident involving Kangana Ranaut being allegedly slapped by a CISF officer during a security check at Chandigarh airport has sparked widespread condemnation and discussions on social media and in the public .
Kangana Ranaut, a prominent Bollywood actor and BJP MP-elect from Mandi, was reportedly slapped by a CISF officer named Kulwinder Kaur during a security check at Chandigarh airport. The altercation occurred as Kangana was proceeding to the boarding point after completing the security check. The officer allegedly argued with Kangana and subsequently slapped her.
TV actor Devoleena Bhattacharjee was one of the notable figures to react to the incident. She condemned the actions of the CISF officer, describing the incident as a “severe breach of public trust and security protocols.” In a series of posts on her X (formerly Twitter) handle, she expressed the following points:
She tweeted, “It is not just a slap. Its a matter of indian security. It can be more dangerous than one can think of. Nothing less than a security threat , should be dealt like one.”

She further tweeted saying, “It is deeply troubling to learn about the incident involving Kangana Ranaut and a CISF officer during a security check-in. Such actions represent a severe breach of public trust and security protocols. A duty-bound officer should never allow personal grudges to interfere with their professional responsibilities. This incident raises significant concerns about the safety and security of every citizen when personal vendettas are acted upon in such a manner. Supporting the actions of this CISF officer means justifying a crime and spreading unnecessary hatred. It is crucial to remember that endorsing such behavior sets a dangerous precedent, potentially allowing others to take personal revenge under the guise of authority. We must collectively condemn this act and ensure that those in positions of power are held accountable. I urge everyone to consider how they would feel if a similar incident were to happen to their loved ones. This isn’t just about one individual, but the standards of conduct we expect from those entrusted with our safety. Let’s stand for justice, impartiality, and a system where personal biases have no place in our security forces. ”

Devoleena calls it a red flag and tweeted saying, “So again, I wanted to bring to notice that I fail to understand the mindset of the country’s people who are celebrating the CISF act at the airport. It’s absolutely a red flag.
The country’s security can’t be a way to settle personal grudges. Why aren’t people understanding this simple point? Just because they don’t like Kangana, they are trying to justify an act that is absolutely condemnable. With this celebration, I can see people here are more concerned about their personal vendetta, not the country’s welfare.
People have become so self-centered and full of hate that they are not even realizing the seriousness of this crime.
Also, when Kangana makes a statement, a lot is said against her in return, not only by citizens but also by political leaders. No one showers flowers on her.
Imagine those who are celebrating this act – tomorrow, if someone slaps them twice because of their behavior or language, will they celebrate that as well? Where are we heading? They are ignoring the security threat for their personal grudges. Imagine if a security officer, who is supposed to be a protector, starts acting out his personal grudges on the public like this, what will you say to the public? Literally, it’s a shame. Creating narratives is easy, but not to forget, tomorrow the same narratives can be created for you. If you don’t keep your actions right, remember, no caste, religion, or community will be able to save you from the consequences.”
