The trailer of the film was released on Tuesday, November 5, by the makers of I Want to Talk. The film, directed by Shoojit Sircar, features Abhishek Bachchan and Johnny Lever in key roles. The trailer hinted that it will indeed be a heart-warming story about a man preparing himself for life-changing surgery. He knows that his family and friends will support him through this, but it’s an internal struggle and the notion of being ‘silent’ that he continues to work through.

Those feelings and those strengths that Sircar is known for are the very things I Want to Talk brings to the fore. At one point it resonates at a low frequency of October and Paa, the director’s earlier hits. Although nothing can be said at this early stage, the trailer hints toward an emotional tale, with Abhishek’s Arjun finding ‘solutions they never had for all the what ifs’ in his life.

The film, like rest of Sircar’s films, has humour but in a situation-centric form while the rest of the focus being on one man dealing with the realities of life a day at a time.

Others in pivotal roles too include Jayant Kriplani and Ahilya Bamroo in I Want to Talk. Ritesh Shah has penned the film’s screenplay and dialogues, and it is being produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar.

The teaser promises of life-changing lessons combined with the thin witted situational humour, which is a Shoojit Sircar trademark. The star cast of the film features an unanticipated ensemble including Johnny Lever, Jayant Kriplani, and Ahilya Bamroo. The instants that we glimpsed of in the trailer leave the audience inquisitive and wanting for more. The trailer takes us through what seems to be a wild ride of life, and whether or not that journey feels like one you would want to embark on.

A year later, the director released the political action thriller Madras Cafe featuring John Abraham in the lead role. His next project, 2015’s Piku, released to widespread critical praise and became a critical and commercial success.

I Want to Talk is scheduled for release on November 22.
