On the 20th anniversary of Aitraaz, producer Subhash Ghai spoke out praising Priyanka Chopra’s iconic performance and announced that Aitraaz 2 is in development. “It has been an amazing journey with Priyanka: initially, Priyanka was a bit hesitant for taking up the role but whatever was given to her on paper, she carried it out much beyond where the script was,” said Ghai.
Ghai announced that for Aitraaz 2 he has teamed up again with Amit Rai, who has previously delivered the blockbuster Oh My God 2. “This is an important script from Amit Rai. The development took three years and it has another bold subject which reflects relationships and changing values of today’s world,” said Ghai in describing the story of Aitraaz 2, which explores a new relevant aspect of modern relationships.

Casting the lead has begun already. The movie would go with some of the finest actresses from their dream list. The lead role would be very bold, award-worthy, and exactly what the sequel demands, according to the producer, who also promised that, like Aitraaz, the film would star Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra, and Kareena Kapoor, though the workplace harassment would be approached in a quite different way.
Meanwhile, the followers of Aitraaz, and particularly fans who appreciated Priyanka Chopra’s performance in the 2004 film, are looking forward to knowing more updates as Ghai vows that this sequel is going to be more impactful.
In other news, Priyanka Chopra shared images from their London house all decorated for Diwali and Halloween.
Priyanka’s fans felt that the change was strange, given that the actor has posted pictures of Malti where her face was visible. Even when they travel to India she never hides her daughter.
