With just days left until the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election, the star-studded cast of the Avengers franchise has united to encourage voters to support Vice President Kamala Harris in her campaign alongside running mate Tim Walz. In a video released by Vanity Fair on October 31, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Don Cheadle, Danai Gurira, and Paul Bettany reprised their playful Marvel personas, teaming up for a lighthearted but pointed message to voters.

The video begins with Johansson, a.k.a. Black Widow, gathering the cast on a video call to brainstorm a catchy slogan. They jokingly settle on “Down with Democracy,” which is quickly dismissed as they spin it into a parody Harris/Walz campaign graphic. Ending with an urgent call to action, the video prompts voters to head to the polls on November 5. Mark Ruffalo (the Hulk) also posted on X, emphasizing the stakes for critical issues like reproductive rights, climate action, and the Affordable Care Act, writing, “This shit is real, and it’s going to come for you.”
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Johansson shared that her idea to rally her Marvel co-stars into a “viral moment” for Harris took off quickly, with the actors bouncing off each other in a banter-filled session reminiscent of their on-screen dynamics. “It was wonderful to feel everybody assembled around it, and hopefully it will engage our fans in the process of voting,” she said.
The Avengers cast adds their names to an impressive list of Harris/Walz supporters, which includes music and entertainment icons like Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and Madonna, among others. The opposing camp also boasts notable endorsements, including Tony Hinchcliffe, Mel Gibson, and Zachary Levi.
As election day nears, this cross-section of Hollywood heavyweights underscores the passion from both sides, as public figures rally to mobilize voters.
