Chris Hemsworth is in talks to play the iconic role of Prince Charming in Disney’s upcoming Prince Charming movie, according to Variety. While plot details are being kept under wraps, it is unclear if it will be a live action or an animated version.
Directed by Paul King, best known for “Wonka,” the project adds to Disney’s growing list of fairy tale adaptations. King co-wrote the script with Simon Farnaby and Jon Crocker. Hemsworth, best known for playing Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has been busy with various projects this year. Most notably, he voiced Optimus Prime in the animated film Transformers One and starred alongside Anya Taylor-Joy in Furiosa: Mad Mike.

He played the villain Dementus in “The Legend of St. Petersburg”. His next project is the crime drama Crime 101, produced by Amazon MGM Studios. In the film, Hemsworth plays a rich thief who plans a major heist, alongside Halle Berry, Barry Keoghan and his Avengers” star Mark Ruffalo . Paul King stars in “Prince Charming,” and he’s happy about the success of “Wonka,” which has grossed $634 million worldwide.
King is also known for directing the more successful “Paddington” films, building on his reputation for directing heartwarming, family-friendly stories. As of now, Disney has not officially confirmed that Hemsworth will play Prince Charming. However, if completed, it will mark another important step for the actor, to expand his repertoire beyond the already packed roles.
