Project Hail Mary Dominates Golden Trailer Awards as Disney Leads Overall Wins

Project Hail Mary emerged as the biggest winner at the 2026 Golden Trailer Awards, taking home Best in Show and four additional awards, while Disney topped all studios with 29 victories.

The 2026 Golden Trailer Awards have crowned a clear winner. Amazon MGM Studios’ blockbuster Project Hail Mary dominated this year’s ceremony, taking home five awards including the night’s top honor, Best in Show. The sci-fi hit’s trailer “Chance” was recognized as the standout marketing campaign of the year, also winning Best Drama and Best Music, while additional trailers for the film earned victories in the Fantasy/Adventure and Action TrailerByte categories.

Golden Trailer Awards Executive Director Evelyn Brady praised the campaign, calling it “a master class in everything that can make a trailer effective,” highlighting its visuals, sound design, music choices and humor.

While Project Hail Mary led individual titles, Disney emerged as the most successful studio overall with an impressive 29 wins across film, television and marketing categories.

Warner Bros. also had a strong night. One Battle After Another, Sinners and Weapons each collected three awards, further cementing the studio’s dominance in theatrical marketing.

Among the notable winners was Steven Spielberg’s highly anticipated Disclosure Day, which won Best Summer 2026 Blockbuster Trailer. The recognition comes just days after early reactions to the film praised it as one of Spielberg’s strongest works in decades and singled out Emily Blunt’s performance.

Another major winner was The Devil Wears Prada 2, whose teaser trailer “Catwalk” took home the award for Best Teaser. The sequel has already generated significant buzz ahead of its release and the trailer’s stylish presentation clearly resonated with voters.

Netflix also enjoyed a successful evening, picking up wins for projects including Wednesday Season 2, Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, Black Mirror Season 7 and Monster: The Ed Gein Story.

In television categories, HBO Max’s The Pitt Season 2 won Best Drama Trailer for a TV or Streaming Series, while IT: Welcome to Derry claimed Best Horror/Thriller Trailer for a TV or Streaming Series.

The Golden Trailer Awards celebrate the creative teams behind movie trailers, television promos, posters, digital campaigns and entertainment marketing. Often described as the Oscars of trailer marketing, the event honors the editors, designers, agencies and studios responsible for generating excitement long before audiences reach theaters.

This year marked the 26th edition of the awards ceremony, held at the Saban Theater in Beverly Hills and hosted by comedian Morgan Jay.

For Project Hail Mary, however, the message from the industry was unmistakable.

Before audiences even see the film, its marketing campaign has already become the gold standard of 2026.
