Michael Continues Strong Box Office Run In India After 5 Weeks

Michael earned Rs. 76.50 crore in India after 5 weeks and is expected to cross the Rs. 80 crore mark very soon at the box office.

The Hollywood film Michael, based on the life of pop icon Michael Jackson, continued its steady run at the Indian box office during its fifth week in theatres. Starring Jaafar Jackson in the lead role, the musical biopic collected Rs. 4.25 crore in its fifth week, taking its total India gross collection to Rs. 76.50 crore.

The film recorded a drop of around 43 to 45 per cent compared to the previous week, which is considered a stable hold for a movie in its fifth week. Trade analysts believe the film is likely to cross the Rs. 80 crore mark in India very soon before moving towards the final stage of its theatrical run.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua, Michael has emerged as one of the most successful Hollywood releases in India this year. At present, the movie is the second highest grossing Hollywood film in the country in 2026. Its performance in the coming weeks will decide whether it can cross the final collection of Project Hail Mary in India.

The film has reportedly performed especially well in South Indian states and in Mumbai. Industry observers believe this may be because Michael Jackson had a very large fan following in these regions during his career. The popularity of his music and performances appears to have helped the film attract audiences across different age groups.

Hollywood films have generally performed strongly at the Indian box office in 2026, with several international releases finding success in theatres. The second half of the year is also expected to bring many major Hollywood releases to cinemas. However, trade experts are also closely watching whether smaller and medium budget Hollywood films can continue surprising audiences with strong box office performances.

The week wise India gross collections of Michael are as follows:

Week One collection was Rs. 31.25 crore.

Week Two collection was Rs. 20.50 crore.

Week Three collection was Rs. 13.00 crore.

Week Four collection was Rs. 7.50 crore.

Week Five collection was Rs. 4.25 crore estimated.

The total India gross collection of Michael after 5 weeks now stands at Rs. 76.50 crore.

The film’s steady performance suggests that audience interest in musical biopics and globally recognised personalities continues to remain strong in Indian cinemas.
