Marvel fans can anticipate the interesting launches scheduled for Wonder Man and Eyes of Wakanda, to be featured on Disney+ in 2025, each telling new stories and bringing in new insights from the Marvel Universe.
Wonder Man: Written by Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Andrew Guest, this series stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who was last seen in Aquaman and Watchmen, as Simon Williams, aka Wonder Man. The series will premiere in December 2025 and will have 10 episodes, with an intention to integrate into the Marvel Cinematic Universe while aligning with the films’ continuity.

Abdul-Mateen II’s character is a reformed villain who becomes a superhero, and his journey in Hollywood is the central story of the show. Alongside the hero comes Ben Kingsley returning for the role of Trevor Slattery, and we are presented with Eric Williams-which is Simon’s brother as well as the other supervillain, Grim Reaper-from Demetrius Grosse and Ed Harris presenting us with Simon’s agent Neal Saroyan. Two other directors who put in some creative juice to it were Stella Meghie, along with James Ponsoldt. Recent first-look concept art for Abdul-Mateen II in character hasn’t exactly made people anymore more or less anxious; if that’s even possible these days.
Eyes of Wakanda: An animated anthology that arrives in 2025, looking into the secretive history of Wakanda by using a 4-part story form. Every one of them is on a warrior from a different time in history as they track global operations to acquire the vibranium artifacts for Wakanda.
Directed by Todd Harris and written in collaboration with Black Panther director Ryan Coogler, Eyes of Wakanda promises to tell the untold stories of Wakanda’s secret world as seen through the struggles of the people protecting it from letting anyone outside the country know their country’s secrets. “The series honors those who shielded Wakanda from the outside world,” Coogler said, adding that “respectfully” it will always maintain the mystique and security of Wakanda. Adding to the mystique, apparently, is a variant of Iron Fist, rumored to help connect Wakanda with some other pockets of the Marvel universe.
These announcements highlight Marvel’s commitment to further storytelling expansion in both live action and animation. In such a manner, Marvel manages to provide fans with rather complex character-driven stories that richen the ever-expanding landscape of the MCU.
