Madhuri Dixit is set to take on a dark and challenging role in the upcoming psychological thriller Mrs. Deshpande, directed by Nagesh Kukunoor. Known for her work in web series and television reality shows, Dixit made her digital debut in 2022 with The Fame Game. She is now reportedly finalizing a deal to portray a serial murderer in this new show.
Mrs. Deshpande will feature Dixit as a serial killer whose expertise is sought by the police to help them understand the methods of another serial killer they are trying to capture, according to a report by Midday. The show is a reimagining of a French series and promises an engrossing story. “The show tells the story of how the police hire a serial killer and pick her brains to understand another serial killer’s modus operandi and nab him,” a source revealed. “The casting is underway. The team is excited to present Madhuri in a dark role,” the source added.
Nagesh Kukunoor, known for his work in the Modern Love Hyderabad anthology and the series City of Dreams, is gearing up to bring this intense story to life.
Meanwhile, Madhuri Dixit has recently been seen as a judge on the popular dance reality show Dance Deewane 4. In an exciting update, Pinkvilla reported that Dixit will be engaging in a special dance face-off with Vidya Balan in the highly-anticipated Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Sources close to the project mentioned that the makers are planning a unique dance number featuring the two actresses. “Both Vidya and Madhuri stand for grace, and the makers are planning to capitalize on their aura with a special dance number in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Bhushan Kumar and his team are working on a fresh rendition of ‘Ami Je Tomar’ to be picturized on Vidya and Madhuri,” the source said.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, directed by Anees Bazmee and featuring Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, and Triptii Dimri, is slated for release on Diwali 2024.
