Sarah Jessica Parker Proves the Knicks Are New York’s Biggest Family Obsession

0

For one night, Sarah Jessica Parker wasn’t Carrie Bradshaw. She was simply another New Yorker losing her mind over the Knicks. As New York secured a dramatic Game 1 victory over the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals, Parker, husband Matthew Broderick and their three children skipped the VIP suites and celebrity lounges in favor of something far more authentic: a packed neighborhood bar filled with nervous, hopeful Knicks fans. According to eyewitnesses, the family watched the game at Crompton Ale House in Chelsea before joining the eruption of celebrations that followed New York’s 105-95 comeback win.

What makes the story stand out isn’t that celebrities were watching basketball. It’s that one of New York’s most recognizable families chose to experience the moment exactly the way thousands of other fans did.

Over the past few months, the Knicks have become more than a basketball team. They’ve become a city-wide obsession. Restaurants are scheduling around games, social media timelines have turned orange and blue, and celebrities who normally dominate headlines are willingly blending into the crowd for a few hours.

Parker captured that energy perfectly in a video showing strangers hugging, cheering and celebrating together after the final buzzer. The footage wasn’t about celebrity sightings. It was about New York being New York.

In many ways, Parker and Broderick represent the city’s old-school celebrity culture. Despite decades of fame, they’ve continued to raise their children in Manhattan, use public spaces and remain connected to the neighborhoods they call home. Watching the Knicks from a local bar feels far more on-brand than watching from behind velvet ropes.

The timing also adds another layer to the moment. The Knicks are appearing in their first NBA Finals in decades, creating a rare shared experience across generations of fans. For Parker and Broderick, it became a family memory. For their children, it was a chance to witness firsthand why New Yorkers are often accused of treating sports like a religion.

And honestly, they’re not helping beat those allegations.

With the Knicks now leading the series, expect the citywide frenzy to grow even louder. If New York manages to bring home a championship, finding an empty seat in a Manhattan bar may become harder than finding courtside tickets.

For one unforgettable night, though, Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick weren’t Hollywood royalty. They were simply Knicks fans celebrating with the rest of the city.

Elon Musk’s Daughter Vivian Wilson Walks Out of Interview After Being Asked About Her Father

0

Vivian Jenna Wilson made headlines this week after walking out of an interview the moment a reporter brought up her father, Elon Musk. The incident took place during a public appearance at the Desigual Vintage event in Ibiza, Spain. According to footage circulating online, Wilson appeared caught off guard when a reporter attempted to ask her about the Tesla and SpaceX CEO. After realizing the question was about Musk, she immediately ended the interaction and walked away. The brief but telling moment quickly gained attention online, not because of what Wilson said, but because of what she refused to discuss.

For years, Wilson has been open about her decision to distance herself from her father. In 2022, she legally changed her name and requested to remove Musk from it entirely, stating in court documents that she no longer wished to be related to him “in any way, shape or form.” Since then, the relationship between the two has remained publicly strained.

Unlike many celebrity family disputes that play out through statements and interviews, Wilson’s stance has been remarkably consistent. She has repeatedly chosen not to engage with conversations about Musk, focusing instead on building her own public identity separate from one of the world’s most recognizable figures.

The Ibiza incident also highlights a larger issue faced by children of high-profile public figures. No matter what they achieve independently, public attention often circles back to their famous relatives. For Wilson, who has become a public figure in her own right, questions about her father continue to follow her despite her efforts to establish clear boundaries.

Social media reactions were divided. Some viewers felt the reporter’s question was predictable given Musk’s global profile, while others argued that Wilson’s long-documented position on the subject should have been respected.

The moment comes during another busy week for Musk-related headlines. The billionaire has been dominating conversations across technology, politics and social media, making any connection to him an instant source of public interest.

However, Wilson’s reaction served as a reminder that not every story connected to a famous name is one people want to revisit. Sometimes silence says more than any answer ever could.

For now, one thing appears certain: when it comes to discussing Elon Musk, Vivian Wilson has made her position unmistakably clear.

Backrooms Director Kane Parsons Has a Message for Hollywood: AI Is Not the Future of Filmmaking

0

Just weeks after becoming Hollywood’s newest success story, Backrooms director Kane Parsons is making it clear that he doesn’t believe artificial intelligence should be leading the future of filmmaking. The 20-year-old filmmaker, whose horror phenomenon Backrooms recently shattered expectations at the global box office, has publicly criticized the growing use of generative AI in creative industries, arguing that it removes the very thing that makes art meaningful. Parsons is hardly an industry veteran. In fact, that’s what makes his comments so interesting.

At an age when many young creators are embracing AI tools, Parsons is taking the opposite stance. Speaking about the technology, he said that if he could make generative AI disappear entirely, he would. For him, the creative process is the reward. Removing the struggle, experimentation and craftsmanship defeats the purpose.

His comments arrive at a time when Hollywood is becoming increasingly divided over AI. Some filmmakers see it as a tool that can reduce costs and speed up production. Others worry it could replace artists, visual effects teams, writers and designers who have spent years mastering their craft.

Parsons acknowledges that AI may eventually help simplify certain technical processes, particularly in visual effects. However, he remains skeptical about where that road leads. His concern is not simply about efficiency. It’s about what happens when efficiency becomes more important than creativity.

The irony is that Parsons himself represents the future Hollywood has been searching for.

Before directing a major theatrical release, he was a teenager creating visual effects videos on YouTube under the name Kane Pixels. His original Backroom’s found-footage short exploded online in 2022, eventually evolving into a viral horror universe that attracted the attention of A24 and producer James Wan. That passion project has now become one of the biggest box office stories of 2026.

Backrooms debuted with approximately $81.5 million domestically and $118 million worldwide, delivering the largest opening weekend in A24’s history. The success also made Parsons the youngest filmmaker ever to open a movie at number one in North America. What makes his story remarkable is that it wasn’t built by algorithms or studio formulas. It came from years of self-taught visual effects work, experimentation and internet storytelling.

In many ways, Parsons’ success serves as an argument against the idea that creativity needs to be automated. A teenager with a computer, an original idea and a deep understanding of online culture created one of the year’s biggest films. No artificial intelligence required.

As Hollywood continues debating AI’s role in entertainment, Kane Parsons has already chosen a side. And considering he just delivered one of the biggest original horror hits of the decade, the industry may want to listen.

Olivia Rodrigo Explains Why She Refuses to Stay Silent on Political Issues

0

Olivia Rodrigo has never been an artist who separates her music from the world around her. Over the past few years, the Grammy-winning singer has used her platform to speak about issues ranging from reproductive rights and racial justice to immigration and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. While celebrity activism often sparks debate online, Rodrigo says staying silent has never felt like an option. In a recent interview with Dazed, the 23-year-old explained that expressing her opinions is a natural extension of being a songwriter.

According to Rodrigo, artists are constantly sharing their emotions, experiences and perspectives through their work. For her, speaking publicly about issues she cares about comes from the same place. While she doesn’t claim to be a political expert, she believes it’s important to stay informed and be honest about how she feels.

Her comments arrive at a time when celebrities face increasing pressure from both sides of the political spectrum. Some fans expect public figures to use their influence to advocate for causes, while others argue entertainers should stay out of politics entirely.

Rodrigo appears comfortable with that criticism.

Rather than positioning herself as an activist first and an artist second, she views the two as interconnected. Many younger musicians have adopted a similar approach, reflecting a generation that often sees cultural conversations and political discussions as inseparable.

One issue that particularly frustrated Rodrigo involved the use of her music in a social media post connected to U.S. immigration enforcement. The singer previously criticized the use of her song in content promoting ICE operations, describing the message behind it as deeply upsetting.

The incident reignited a broader conversation about how artists’ work is used in political messaging without necessarily reflecting the views of the people who created it. Over the years, several musicians have publicly objected to politicians, campaigns and government agencies using their songs in ways they felt misrepresented their beliefs.

Rodrigo’s willingness to speak out has made her one of the most politically vocal mainstream pop stars of her generation. Unlike artists who carefully avoid controversy, she has repeatedly shown a willingness to risk backlash if it means staying true to her convictions.

Whether people agree with her views or not, Rodrigo’s stance highlights a larger shift happening in entertainment. Today’s biggest stars are no longer expected to exist solely as performers. Audiences increasingly want authenticity, and for many younger artists, that includes being open about the issues that matter to them.

For Rodrigo, remaining silent simply doesn’t feel authentic. As her career continues to grow, it’s clear that her voice extends beyond music. And if her latest comments are any indication, fans shouldn’t expect her to stop speaking her mind anytime soon.

Sharon Stone Says One Conversation During a Health Scare Changed Her Marriage Forever

0

Sharon Stone is opening up about one of the most difficult periods of her life, revealing that a frightening health scare in the early 2000s became the moment she realized her marriage was beyond saving. Appearing on David Begnaud’s podcast The Person Who Believed In Me, the Oscar-nominated actress recalled being told by doctors that tumors discovered in her breasts appeared serious enough to warrant a bilateral mastectomy. While the tumors ultimately turned out to be benign, Stone says the experience exposed a painful truth about her relationship.

According to the actress, the biggest shock wasn’t the medical diagnosis itself. It was the reaction she received from her husband at the time.

Stone shared that while she was trying to make an informed decision about her own body and future, she felt unsupported during a moment when she needed reassurance the most. She described the conversation as a turning point, claiming she immediately sensed their marriage had reached a breaking point.

What makes Stone’s story resonate isn’t just the celebrity headline. It highlights a reality many women face when serious health decisions become entangled with expectations, relationships and questions about bodily autonomy.

For decades, conversations around women’s health have often focused solely on medical outcomes. Stone’s experience serves as a reminder that emotional support can be just as important as treatment plans. When facing life-altering possibilities, the people closest to us often reveal who they truly are.

The actress explained that she trusted her instincts throughout the ordeal and refused to let others make decisions on her behalf. Looking back, she sees that moment as one where she chose herself, even though it came at a significant personal cost.

Though Stone did not directly name her former spouse during the conversation, she was married to journalist Phil Bronstein from 1998 until their divorce in 2004.

Over the years, Stone has been remarkably candid about the challenges she has faced, from health struggles and career setbacks to navigating life as a single mother. Her latest revelation continues that pattern of honesty, offering a glimpse into how private moments can shape major life decisions.

Perhaps the most striking part of Stone’s story is that the tumors were ultimately non-cancerous. Yet the experience still changed the course of her life. Sometimes, it isn’t the diagnosis that transforms a person. It’s discovering who stands beside you when everything feels uncertain.

More than two decades later, Stone’s reflection feels less like a story about divorce and more like a reminder of the importance of support, respect and personal agency during life’s most vulnerable moments.

Suriya’s Karuppu Inches Closer To Massive ₹300 Crore Milestone

Suriya’s action drama Karuppu continues to perform steadily at the box office as it enters its third week in theatres. The film has emerged as one of the most successful Tamil releases of the year and continues to attract audiences both in India and overseas. While collections have naturally slowed compared to its opening weeks, the movie is still maintaining a strong presence across several markets.

After completing 20 days in theatres, Karuppu has witnessed the expected decline in daily earnings that most films experience after a strong initial run. However, audience interest remains steady, particularly during evening and night shows. The continued turnout suggests that positive word of mouth is helping the film sustain its theatrical run despite increased competition and the passage of time.

One of the biggest achievements of Karuppu’s box office journey has been its worldwide performance. The film has now collected ₹297.12 crore globally and is only a few crores away from crossing the important ₹300 crore milestone. Strong support from domestic audiences, combined with encouraging overseas collections, has played a major role in helping the film reach this stage.

Karuppu’s success has highlighted Suriya’s popularity among moviegoers and the growing reach of regional Indian cinema. In recent years, Tamil films have increasingly found audiences beyond their traditional markets, and Karuppu appears to be another example of that trend. Its performance in international territories has contributed significantly to its overall box office total.

As expected, the film experienced a midweek slowdown on Day 20. Weekday collections are generally affected by work and school schedules, resulting in lower theatre occupancy compared to weekends. Even so, Karuppu managed to maintain stable collections without any major drop, supported by loyal fans and regular moviegoers.

The upcoming weekend is expected to be important for the film’s box office journey. Industry observers believe that collections could see a boost on Saturday and Sunday, helping the movie comfortably cross the ₹300 crore worldwide mark. If that happens, it will become another major milestone in Suriya’s career and further strengthen the film’s position among the biggest Tamil box office successes of the year.

With ₹297.12 crore already collected worldwide after 20 days, Karuppu remains on track for another significant achievement as it continues its theatrical run across India and international markets.

Obsession Continues Surprise Box Office Run With Strong Day 6 Numbers

The horror thriller Obsession continues to perform steadily at the Indian box office, maintaining audience interest even during the weekday period. Despite not featuring major star names and facing competition from other releases, the film has managed to attract viewers through positive word of mouth and strong discussions on social media.

According to industry estimates, Obsession collected ₹2.51 crore on its sixth day in Indian theatres. While the figure is lower than the ₹3 crore earned on Tuesday, the decline remains limited, indicating that the film is holding up well during the working week. Such stability is often seen as a positive sign for a film’s long term performance.

The movie recorded its best single day collection on Sunday, when it earned ₹3.25 crore. With the latest numbers included, the film’s total India net collection has reached ₹15.26 crore. Its domestic gross collection currently stands at ₹18.12 crore, reflecting a solid performance for a film that arrived without the backing of a major star cast.

Directed by Curry Barker, Obsession has also achieved remarkable success internationally. Produced on a reported budget of $750,000, the film has gone on to earn more than $148 million worldwide. This makes it one of the most profitable horror films released in recent years and one of the biggest surprise success stories of the year.

The film’s story centers on a lonely music store employee named Bear. Hoping to win the affection of his longtime crush Nikki, he uses a mysterious object that grants wishes. However, things quickly take a dark turn when his desire for love transforms into a dangerous and frightening obsession. The unusual storyline and psychological horror elements have helped the film connect with audiences across different markets.

Obsession has also generated attention among celebrities. After watching the film, actress Ananya Panday shared her reaction on social media. She stated that she could not stop thinking about the movie and described herself as being “obsessed” with it.

The film was released in Indian cinemas on May 29 following its earlier release in the United States. Since then, it has continued to attract moviegoers and maintain steady collections. With positive audience feedback and ongoing interest, Obsession remains one of the most talked about horror films currently playing in theatres and shows no immediate signs of slowing down at the box office.

Chand Mera Dil Nears Major Box Office Milestone Despite New Competition

Chand Mera Dil continued its run at the box office on its second Wednesday, collecting an estimated Rs. 0.80 crore. The film recorded a drop of around 15 per cent compared to its Tuesday earnings and has now taken its total domestic collection to Rs. 25.50 crore after 13 days in theatres.

Based on its current performance, the film is expected to complete its second week with collections of around Rs. 26.50 crore. While the movie has managed to remain steady during its second week, its performance in the coming days will depend heavily on how it competes with several new releases arriving in cinemas.

The romantic drama stars Lakshya and Ananya Panday in lead roles and is directed by Vivek Soni. The film will now face competition from Peddi, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, and Bandar, all of which are expected to attract audience attention this weekend. If Chand Mera Dil manages to hold its screens and maintain audience interest despite the arrival of these films, it could finish its theatrical run close to the Rs. 30 crore nett mark in India.

An important factor in the film’s box office journey has been the Buy One Get One ticket offer, which was available on most weekdays. While such promotional offers helped attract viewers, industry observers believe the film could have delivered stronger results if it had received more positive word of mouth from audiences after release.

Looking at its day by day performance, the film opened with Rs. 2.75 crore on Day 1 and showed growth over its first weekend. It earned Rs. 3.50 crore on Day 2 and Rs. 4.25 crore on Day 3. Collections then gradually slowed during the weekdays, though the film remained stable enough to continue adding to its overall total.

During its second week, the film collected Rs. 1.25 crore on Day 8, Rs. 1.65 crore on Day 9, Rs. 1.70 crore on Day 10, Rs. 0.90 crore on Day 11, Rs. 0.95 crore on Day 12, and an estimated Rs. 0.80 crore on Day 13.

With a current total of Rs. 25.50 crore, Chand Mera Dil has already achieved a respectable run. The next few days will determine whether it can continue attracting audiences and move closer to the Rs. 30 crore mark before completing its theatrical journey.

Peddi Roars At The Box Office With Massive Preview Collection

Ram Charan’s latest Telugu film Peddi has made a strong start at the box office, collecting an estimated Rs. 22 crore from preview shows held before its official release. According to early estimates, the film earned around Rs. 22.05 crore across India, with most of the collections coming from the Telugu speaking states.

The Telugu states contributed approximately Rs. 18.75 crore to the total preview earnings. Since preview collections are usually added to the first day box office figures, the final numbers may see slight changes when the official collection report is released. However, the early figures indicate a very positive start for the film.

Apart from its domestic performance, Peddi has also recorded encouraging numbers overseas. Early reports suggest that the film collected close to USD 2 million from preview screenings outside India. The United States alone is estimated to have contributed around USD 1.50 million, highlighting strong interest among international audiences.

The film has now recorded the second highest preview collection for a Telugu film. It trails only They Call Him OG, which reportedly earned Rs. 31 crore from previews, including Rs. 27 crore from the Telugu states. Peddi has comfortably surpassed the preview performance of Ram Charan’s previous release, Game Changer, which collected around Rs. 10 crore from its preview screenings.

Industry observers are also closely watching audience reactions, which appear positive based on initial feedback from preview shows. This could help the film maintain momentum over the coming days. Advance bookings for the opening day have also been strong, with estimates suggesting that the film could collect more than Rs. 60 crore in the Telugu states and around Rs. 70 crore across India, including preview earnings.

The film’s strong start comes at a time when the Telugu film industry has been facing a shortage of major box office successes. While the year began positively with the success of Mana Shankara Prasad Vara Garu, the industry has experienced a relatively slow period since then. As a result, Peddi’s early performance is being seen as an encouraging sign for cinema owners and exhibitors.

The territorial breakdown of Peddi’s preview collections includes Rs. 7.00 crore from Nizam, Rs. 2.75 crore from Ceded, Rs. 9.00 crore from Andhra, Rs. 3.00 crore from Karnataka, and Rs. 0.30 crore from the rest of India, taking the total India gross to approximately Rs. 22.05 crore.

Producer Pahlaj Nihalani Dies After Health Battle, Film Industry Pays Tribute

0

Veteran Bollywood producer and former Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chairperson Pahlaj Nihalani passed away on June 4, 2026, at the age of 76. He breathed his last at Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai after battling health issues for several months. His death marks the loss of a prominent figure who played an important role in both the Indian film industry and film certification system.

Pahlaj Nihalani was widely known for producing popular Hindi films that connected strongly with audiences, especially during the late 1980s and 1990s. Over the years, he built a reputation for backing commercial entertainers that enjoyed success at the box office. His work helped shape a significant period in mainstream Bollywood cinema.

Nihalani began his journey as a producer with the film Haathkadi in 1982. During his career, he worked with several leading actors and filmmakers. He was especially known for his association with actor Govinda. Together, they delivered successful films such as Shola Aur Shabnam and the 1993 blockbuster Aankhen. These films remain among the memorable commercial successes of that era.

Apart from these well known titles, Nihalani’s filmography also included movies such as Aag Ka Gola, Rangeela Raja, and Julie 2. His contribution to the entertainment industry extended beyond filmmaking. He served as the president of the Association of Pictures and TV Programme Producers for nearly 29 years before stepping down from the position in 2009.

In January 2015, Nihalani was appointed chairperson of the CBFC, the body responsible for certifying films in India. His tenure at the board attracted significant public attention before he was replaced by lyricist Prasoon Joshi in August 2017.

According to journalist Vickey Lalwani, Nihalani had been diagnosed with liver cirrhosis and was recovering from the illness over the past four months. However, his condition later worsened. Lalwani said, “He was under the treatment of Dr Jayant Barve and was being shifted from one hospital to another for the last thirty days.”

The producer’s funeral is scheduled to take place in Mumbai at 3 pm on June 4. With a career spanning several decades, Pahlaj Nihalani leaves behind a legacy linked to some of Bollywood’s most popular films and an important chapter in India’s film industry history.
