Peddi Roars At The Box Office With Massive Preview Collection

Ram Charan’s latest Telugu film Peddi has made a strong start at the box office, collecting an estimated Rs. 22 crore from preview shows held before its official release. According to early estimates, the film earned around Rs. 22.05 crore across India, with most of the collections coming from the Telugu speaking states.

The Telugu states contributed approximately Rs. 18.75 crore to the total preview earnings. Since preview collections are usually added to the first day box office figures, the final numbers may see slight changes when the official collection report is released. However, the early figures indicate a very positive start for the film.

Apart from its domestic performance, Peddi has also recorded encouraging numbers overseas. Early reports suggest that the film collected close to USD 2 million from preview screenings outside India. The United States alone is estimated to have contributed around USD 1.50 million, highlighting strong interest among international audiences.

The film has now recorded the second highest preview collection for a Telugu film. It trails only They Call Him OG, which reportedly earned Rs. 31 crore from previews, including Rs. 27 crore from the Telugu states. Peddi has comfortably surpassed the preview performance of Ram Charan’s previous release, Game Changer, which collected around Rs. 10 crore from its preview screenings.

Industry observers are also closely watching audience reactions, which appear positive based on initial feedback from preview shows. This could help the film maintain momentum over the coming days. Advance bookings for the opening day have also been strong, with estimates suggesting that the film could collect more than Rs. 60 crore in the Telugu states and around Rs. 70 crore across India, including preview earnings.

The film’s strong start comes at a time when the Telugu film industry has been facing a shortage of major box office successes. While the year began positively with the success of Mana Shankara Prasad Vara Garu, the industry has experienced a relatively slow period since then. As a result, Peddi’s early performance is being seen as an encouraging sign for cinema owners and exhibitors.

The territorial breakdown of Peddi’s preview collections includes Rs. 7.00 crore from Nizam, Rs. 2.75 crore from Ceded, Rs. 9.00 crore from Andhra, Rs. 3.00 crore from Karnataka, and Rs. 0.30 crore from the rest of India, taking the total India gross to approximately Rs. 22.05 crore.

Veteran Bollywood producer and former Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chairperson Pahlaj Nihalani passed away on June 4, 2026, at the age of 76. He breathed his last at Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai after battling health issues for several months. His death marks the loss of a prominent figure who played an important role in both the Indian film industry and film certification system.

Pahlaj Nihalani was widely known for producing popular Hindi films that connected strongly with audiences, especially during the late 1980s and 1990s. Over the years, he built a reputation for backing commercial entertainers that enjoyed success at the box office. His work helped shape a significant period in mainstream Bollywood cinema.

Nihalani began his journey as a producer with the film Haathkadi in 1982. During his career, he worked with several leading actors and filmmakers. He was especially known for his association with actor Govinda. Together, they delivered successful films such as Shola Aur Shabnam and the 1993 blockbuster Aankhen. These films remain among the memorable commercial successes of that era.

Apart from these well known titles, Nihalani’s filmography also included movies such as Aag Ka Gola, Rangeela Raja, and Julie 2. His contribution to the entertainment industry extended beyond filmmaking. He served as the president of the Association of Pictures and TV Programme Producers for nearly 29 years before stepping down from the position in 2009.

In January 2015, Nihalani was appointed chairperson of the CBFC, the body responsible for certifying films in India. His tenure at the board attracted significant public attention before he was replaced by lyricist Prasoon Joshi in August 2017.

According to journalist Vickey Lalwani, Nihalani had been diagnosed with liver cirrhosis and was recovering from the illness over the past four months. However, his condition later worsened. Lalwani said, “He was under the treatment of Dr Jayant Barve and was being shifted from one hospital to another for the last thirty days.”

The producer’s funeral is scheduled to take place in Mumbai at 3 pm on June 4. With a career spanning several decades, Pahlaj Nihalani leaves behind a legacy linked to some of Bollywood’s most popular films and an important chapter in India’s film industry history.

For one of the outings, Jenner wore a camouflage swimsuit, a change from the pink themed outfits she had been wearing throughout much of the trip. She completed the look with large silver hoop earrings and styled her hair in loose waves. In some photographs, she could be seen holding her phone while posing by the ocean.

During the vacation, Jenner also shared several other fashion looks on social media. One featured a pink Jacquemus bikini top paired with matching bottoms and a ruffled mini skirt. FWICE withdraws non cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh amid Don 3 dispute

0

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has withdrawn its non-cooperation directive against actor Ranveer Singh following intervention by key industry bodies and after the actor reportedly served a legal notice to the organisation. According to reports published by multiple media outlets citing PTI, FWICE president B.N. Tiwari confirmed that the decision was taken after requests from the Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPAA), the Producers Guild of India and the Cine & TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA). Tiwari stated that all stakeholders have been advised to sit together and arrive at a solution that protects the interests of both producers and artists. He also clarified that the organisation’s legal department will respond to the legal notice sent by the actor.

The development comes shortly after reports emerged that Ranveer Singh had sent a legal notice to FWICE challenging the non-cooperation directive issued against him last month. While the contents of the notice have not been made public, neither the actor’s team nor FWICE has officially disclosed further details regarding the legal communication.

The matter is linked to Singh’s exit from Farhan Akhtar’s much-awaited film Don 3. Reports over the past few weeks have suggested that the actor’s departure was the result of creative differences with the makers. Industry reports have also claimed that concerns over production delays and the absence of a finalised script/screenplay may have contributed to the decision. What initially appeared to be a casting change eventually developed into a larger dispute, with reports stating that Excel Entertainment is seeking compensation of Rs 45 crore and FWICE subsequently issuing its non-cooperation directive against the actor.

Following the controversy, Ranveer Singh’s spokesperson released a statement saying that the actor had deliberately chosen not to comment publicly on the issue. The statement noted that Singh believes professional discussions and personal relationships should be handled with dignity, maturity and mutual respect rather than through public exchanges.

As of now, the non-cooperation directive has been withdrawn, although the broader dispute surrounding Don 3 and the reported legal proceedings remains unresolved.

Selena Gomez Debuts Stunning New Look And Fans Can’t Believe Their Eyes

Season 6 of “Only Murders in the Building” is currently being filmed, and fans are getting regular behind the scenes updates from the cast as production continues in London. While the stars have been sharing photos and videos from the set, one recent post from Selena Gomez has especially caught the attention of fans.

The actress shared a series of images and a video on social media that revealed a completely different hairstyle. Known for her signature dark brown hair, Gomez appeared with copper red hair styled in loose curls that fell to her shoulders. The new look stood out from her usual appearance and even looked different from the hairstyle typically worn by her character, Mabel Mora, in the popular Hulu series.

Sharing the photos online, Gomez wrote, “Wild things happening with @onlymurdershulu while adoring london 💕”. The post included a selfie taken from above as well as a short video. In the clip, Gomez is seen lying on a bed in her trailer before zooming in on a mirror to take a closer look at the new hairstyle.

The transformation quickly drew reactions from fans and fellow celebrities. Actress Ashley Park commented, “Ummmm lovvve the red!!” while one fan wrote, “girl the red hair LOOKS GOOD ON U.” Many social media users praised the look and shared their excitement over the unexpected change.

Although the hairstyle may be temporary, fans are already discussing it online. Gomez has also appeared in other behind the scenes photos from the set with her usual dark hair, leading many to believe the red hairstyle is likely a wig rather than a permanent change.

Interestingly, colorful wigs may play a role in the upcoming season. Actor Steve Martin recently shared a photo featuring Gomez, Martin Short and actress Jennifer Saunders. In the image, Saunders can be seen wearing a bright pink bob hairstyle with bangs, adding to speculation about the looks that may appear in Season 6.

This is not the first time Gomez has experimented with temporary hairstyles. In 2025, she tried a different look using a wig with bangs. At the time, she joked about the style, writing, “I would, but I’d regret it, then get it redone so I simply wont.”

As filming continues, fans remain eager to see what surprises Season 6 of “Only Murders in the Building” has in store.

Princess Diana’s Unseen Letter Reveals Her Hope for a Stronger Bond Between Prince William and Prince Harry

0

A previously unseen letter written by Princess Diana has shed new light on the hopes she had for her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, decades before their highly publicized royal fallout. The handwritten two-page letter, dated November 1995, was addressed to a supporter named Michael Barratt following Diana’s landmark BBC Panorama interview. The correspondence is now set to be auctioned and offers a rare glimpse into the late Princess of Wales’ personal reflections during one of the most turbulent periods of her life.

In the letter, Diana reportedly expressed gratitude for Barratt’s thoughtful words and reflected on themes of self-discovery, healing and moving forward. She also shared her hopes for the future, particularly when it came to raising her two sons.

According to details released by the auction house handling the sale, Diana wrote about wanting to teach William and Harry the value of meaningful communication and understanding on a deeper level. The revelation has attracted significant attention given the widely reported breakdown of the brothers’ relationship in recent years.

The letter was written shortly after Diana’s explosive Panorama interview, in which she openly discussed the collapse of her marriage to then-Prince Charles and addressed the challenges she faced within the royal family. Diana reportedly hoped that speaking publicly about her experiences would encourage and support other women dealing with similar struggles.

The correspondence is expected to fetch between $4,000 and $6,000 at auction and includes the original envelope featuring Diana’s handwritten details.

Diana tragically died in a car accident in Paris in August 1997 at the age of 36, leaving behind William and Harry, who were just 15 and 12 years old at the time.

Over the years, both princes have spoken about the profound impact of losing their mother. However, their relationship has become increasingly strained, particularly after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and relocated to North America.

Tensions escalated further following Harry’s interviews, Netflix projects and his bestselling memoir Spare, in which he detailed several personal disagreements with members of the royal family, including William.

Today, the brothers are believed to have little to no contact. Diana’s newly surfaced words have therefore resonated strongly with royal watchers, serving as a reminder of her wish that her sons would always remain connected through honest and meaningful communication.

More than 30 years after it was written, the letter offers a poignant look at a mother’s hopes for her children and the future she envisioned for them.

New Michael Jackson Documentary Reignites Questions Around His Legacy and Long-Contested Allegations

0

More than 15 years after his death, Michael Jackson remains one of the most celebrated and debated figures in entertainment history. A new Netflix documentary series, Michael Jackson: The Verdict, is once again placing that complicated legacy under the spotlight. The series revisits Jackson’s highly publicized 2005 child molestation trial through interviews with people connected to the case, including former associate Vincent Amen, who worked with the singer between 2002 and 2003. In the documentary, Amen makes new allegations about material he claims he was asked to dispose of after leaving Neverland Ranch.

According to Amen, he was given a duffle bag containing items that raised concerns for him, including what he described as a nudist publication featuring children. He alleges that discovering the contents changed his perception of Jackson’s innocence and became a turning point in how he viewed the star.

The claims are presented as part of the documentary’s broader examination of Jackson’s relationships with young fans and the controversies that followed him throughout his career. The Jackson estate had not publicly responded to the documentary at the time of publication.

What makes Michael Jackson’s story so difficult to discuss is that it exists at the intersection of two competing realities. On one hand, Jackson was a once-in-a-generation artist whose influence on music, dance and pop culture remains unmatched. On the other, allegations surrounding his relationships with children have persisted for decades, continuing to generate debate long after his acquittal in court.

Jackson was tried in 2005 on multiple charges related to child molestation and was ultimately found not guilty on all counts. Jurors cited insufficient evidence, and legally, Jackson was acquitted. However, documentaries, lawsuits and firsthand accounts from various individuals have continued to fuel public discussion in the years since.

The latest documentary arrives at a time when audiences are increasingly willing to re-examine powerful public figures through a modern lens. Rather than offering definitive answers, Michael Jackson: The Verdict appears focused on presenting testimonies, perspectives and unanswered questions that still surround one of entertainment’s most polarizing icons.

Whether the documentary changes public opinion remains to be seen. For many fans, Jackson’s musical contributions remain separate from the allegations that followed him. For others, any new testimony is worth considering as part of a larger conversation about accountability and celebrity culture.

What is certain is that nearly two decades after the trial and more than 15 years after his passing, Michael Jackson’s legacy remains far from settled. Every new documentary, lawsuit or witness account continues to spark the same difficult question: how should history remember one of the most influential entertainers the world has ever seen?

If HBO Stops Taking Creative Risks, Television Loses More Than Just Another Streaming Service

0

Awards seasons usually celebrate winners. This year, they may also serve as a reminder of what television stands to lose. HBO Max is heading into the 2026 Emmy race with serious momentum. Shows like The Pitt, Hacks, Euphoria, Industry and several new originals are expected to be among the biggest contenders. On paper, it looks like another victory lap for a company that has spent decades defining prestige television. But the real story is not about awards. It is about whether the creative culture that made HBO special can survive in an industry increasingly obsessed with algorithms, franchises and safe bets.

The easiest thing in Hollywood is making content that resembles something audiences have already seen. The hardest thing is backing an idea that sounds risky, strange or impossible and trusting creators enough to figure it out.

That is what HBO did differently.

Long before every studio launched a streaming service, HBO built a reputation for betting on stories that did not look commercially obvious. The Sopranos was considered unconventional. The Wire was overlooked for years. Girls divided audiences. Succession sounded like a niche drama about wealthy media executives. None of them looked like guaranteed hits on paper.

Today, most executives would probably ask for more data before approving them.

That is why HBO’s success cannot simply be measured through subscriber numbers or Emmy nominations. Its biggest contribution to television was creating a space where creators could fail, experiment and occasionally produce something extraordinary.

The irony is that some of HBO’s most celebrated shows were not immediate successes. The Wire never became an awards darling during its run. Enlightened struggled to find a large audience. The Leftovers only gained widespread appreciation years later. Yet these are the very shows people now point to when discussing the golden age of television.

In today’s streaming environment, many of those projects might not survive beyond a single season.

The industry has become obsessed with instant results. Shows are expected to trend within days, dominate social media and justify their budgets immediately. If they do not, they disappear.

That approach creates short-term wins but long-term problems.

Television’s greatest shows are rarely the safest ones. They are often the projects that confuse executives, divide audiences and take time to find their voice.

What makes HBO valuable is not that it produces popular shows. Every network wants popular shows.

What makes HBO valuable is that it still believes a bizarre comedy, an uncomfortable drama or an unknown creator might be worth investing in.

The success of franchises like Game of Thrones, The White Lotus and Euphoria helped fund that philosophy. The blockbusters paid the bills, while the smaller shows pushed the medium forward.

That balance is becoming increasingly rare.

As consolidation continues across Hollywood, many fans are worried less about what happens to HBO’s biggest hits and more about what happens to the next unexpected masterpiece. The next show that nobody predicts. The next writer who has never been given a chance before.

Because if television becomes a business driven entirely by proven formulas, viewers will still get content.

What they may stop getting is discovery.

And that is something no algorithm has figured out how to replicate.

Whether HBO Max dominates the Emmys this year or not, its true legacy has never been awards. It is the belief that audiences are smarter, more curious and more adventurous than the industry often gives them credit for.

In a landscape filled with sequels, reboots and familiar brands, that belief may be more valuable than ever.
