Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha, a frequent victim of online trolling, once again displayed that she knows just what it takes to turn hate into humor. From unnecessary remarks about her interfaith wedding to repeated snide comments on her weight, the actress has seen her fair share of hate on social media. But on the recent episode of Two Much With Kajol and Twinkle, Sonakshi spilled on how she deals with online hate — and why she sometimes chooses to clap back.
In the open chat, host Kajol asked Sonakshi why she replies to trolls at times rather than just ignoring them. The Heeramandi actress responded with her signature sass, “I return it seldom, but when I do, it is because you have reached a place where you’ve really angered me. Otherwise, I don’t respond to it. It is simple enough for me to ignore the negativity, but sometimes it just reaches a stage where I am like, ‘Abey, tu hai kaun? Tune mujhe kaise bola?” You’re some loser sitting on your computer, and you have the audacity to speak to me like that? Come, let me demonstrate.'”
Her genuineness touched a chord with both the hosts, as Twinkle Khanna chuckled and declared her a “pro” in dealing with trolls. The dialogue soon shifted to a light-hearted game show segment where Kajol and Twinkle recited nasty social media posts regarding Sonakshi. One troll made fun of her attire, calling it something from her dad Shatrughan Sinha’s closet. Sonakshi did not blink an eye and quickly replied, “It was deliberate, btch,” and a roar of laughter erupted from the hosts and audience.
Another user made a dig at her Instagram captions, saying they were “funnier than her films.” Sonakshi playfully shot back, “Perhaps because I’m a clever individual, you see.” When another person complained that she had blocked them for referring to her as “aunty,” Sonakshi erupted into laughter and made the remark, “I’ll unblock you so that I can block you all over again.”
Her quick wit and no-nonsense attitude soon became viral after the show was aired, with people admiring her sense of humor and confidence. A lot of Twitter users praised her as “the queen of comebacks” and even appreciated how elegantly she takes criticism.
