e.l.f. Beauty Inc. (NYSE: ELF) is facing market pressure after its recently acquired skincare brand, Rhode, posted softer-than-expected sales in its latest earnings report. The company’s shares dropped as much as 10% intraday, extending a broader decline amid concerns that the Rhode acquisition, once seen as a growth catalyst, may not be delivering as strongly as hoped.

According to filings, Rhode generated approximately $40.2 million in quarterly revenue, missing analysts’ internal estimates that had been projecting higher numbers following strong brand buzz and influencer-led visibility. Investors were expecting Rhode, founded by Hailey Bieber and known for its minimalist “glazed donut skin” aesthetic, to significantly boost e.l.f.’s top-line growth after its acquisition earlier this year.

However, analysts suggest the shortfall has tempered enthusiasm. UBS maintained a Neutral rating with a $150 price target, while several other firms, including Morgan Stanley and Piper Sandler, flagged near-term risks due to integration costs and potential overvaluation. Some analysts have also pointed out that the skincare segment, while growing, remains highly competitive with saturated product categories, and it may take several quarters before e.l.f. can fully leverage Rhode’s potential.

In addition to Rhode’s underperformance, e.l.f. Beauty also reported weaker January retail trends across core makeup categories, reflecting a cooling demand in the mass beauty segment. According to Reuters, the company lowered parts of its annual outlook, citing softening consumer spending and higher marketing expenses as contributing factors.

Despite the market reaction, e.l.f. Beauty’s management emphasized that the company remains confident in its long-term growth trajectory. CEO Tarang Amin reiterated that Rhode represents a long-term investment in skincare innovation, aligning with e.l.f. ‘s mission of accessible, cruelty-free beauty. “We remain excited about Rhode’s community, its founder-led creativity, and the brand’s runway for global expansion,” Amin said during the earnings call.

Still, the short-term market mood is cautious. Investors are watching closely to see whether e.l.f. can stabilize Rhode’s performance in the coming quarters and justify the premium paid for the acquisition. As of now, e.l.f. Beauty remains one of the most-watched names in the beauty sector, but Rhode’s disappointing debut has cast a shadow over what was once viewed as a strategic leap into the skincare space.

The Tron universe, once considered a bold vision of the future, seems to have reached its end. Tron: Ares, the latest entry in the long-running sci-fi saga, is turning out to be one of Disney’s biggest box office disasters of the year. Industry estimates suggest the movie could lose over $130 million, a staggering setback that all but guarantees the franchise will not move forward.

With a massive production budget exceeding $220 million and global marketing costs pushing total expenses near $350 million, Tron: Ares has managed to earn only about $103 million worldwide so far. Analysts expect it to finish well short of breaking even. Despite advanced visual effects and a big-name cast, the film’s cold reception shows audiences simply weren’t interested in returning to the digital realm of the Grid.

This marks a sharp downturn for a series that once held promise. The original Tron (1982), while not a huge commercial success, became a cult favorite for its groundbreaking computer animation. It earned around $50 million on a $17 million budget, modest but respected for its innovation. Then came Tron: Legacy (2010), a visually stunning sequel that grossed roughly $400 million worldwide on a $170–200 million budget. While it received mixed reviews, it performed well enough to hint at a revival for the franchise.

Unfortunately, Tron: Ares couldn’t sustain that momentum. Viewers and critics alike described it as visually impressive but emotionally flat, with little to say beyond its digital spectacle. The long gap between films also weakened interest, as a new generation of audiences had no real attachment to the Tron brand.

Given the enormous financial loss and muted response, insiders believe Tron: Ares will most likely not receive a sequel. What was once meant to reignite a dormant franchise now appears to have extinguished it entirely.

For fans who hoped Ares would breathe new life into the Grid, this outcome is disappointing. But after three attempts across four decades, it seems the digital world of Tron has finally powered down, for good.

Popular Punjabi artist-singer Diljit Dosanjh recently released his new song “Kufar” from his new 2025 album Aura on October 14. Although the song had been eagerly awaited, it has now found itself in a controversy for a certain scene in the video that has left people divided.

The clip stars actress and ex-Miss World Manushi Chhillar, who guides a troupe of dancers in a yoga-inspired choreography. Wearing a pink lace jumpsuit and feathered boots, Manushi strikes poses simulating leg lifts (Uttanpadasana) and other single-legged reaches. Yet the video has come under fire on social media, with some accusing the clip of “sexualising” yoga — an ancient Indian practice with spiritual and mindfulness roots.

The outrage escalated after one of the clips of the video became viral on the Reddit platform. Many users criticized the visuals, terming them tone-deaf and disrespectful. Comments varied from “This is likely one of the worst music videos I have ever seen” to “Why are they sexualising one of the few safe spaces women have — yoga classes?

” Another could not resist writing sarcastically, “Aaj kal choreographers kaunsa nasha kar rahe?
The criticism was also leveled at Diljit himself, as some fans wondered how a scene like that could have passed his normally high creative standards.

Manushi Chhillar spoke out over the controversy in a level-headed and reflective response. Asked about her small role in the video and the backlash, she said: “I’ve always admired people who value education. But I’ve also learned that wisdom lies in respecting every form of art and expression. The world needs both thinkers and creators; neither is ‘reduced’ when they uplift others.”

Veteran actor-comedian Govardhan Asrani, fondly known as Asrani, passed away on Monday at the age of 84 after a prolonged illness. His death has left the film industry in mourning, with actor Akshay Kumar among those deeply affected by the loss. Akshay, who recently shot with Asrani for their upcoming film Haiwaan, shared an emotional tribute on social media.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Akshay expressed his grief, writing, “Speechless with grief at the passing of Asrani ji. We had just shared the warmest of hugs a week back during the shoot of Haiwaan. Bahot pyare insaan the… he had the most legendary comic timing.”

Akshay reflected on their long-standing collaboration, recalling films like Hera Pheri, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Bhagam Bhag, De Dana Dan, Welcome, and their yet-to-be-released films Bhoot Bangla and Haiwaan, both directed by Priyadarshan. “I had worked and learned so much from him. What an absolute loss to our industry. God bless you Asrani Sir, for giving us a million reasons to laugh. Om Shanti,” he added.

The actor also shared a nostalgic photo of Asrani riding a scooty with Akshay sitting behind — a moment captured from one of their recent shoots.

According to his manager, Babubhai Thiba, Asrani passed away at 3 PM at Arogya Nidhi Hospital in Juhu. His last rites were performed at Santacruz Crematorium. He is survived by his wife, actress Manju Asrani, his sister, and nephew. The couple had no children.

Among the reportedly scheduled stops, Mumbai has been a surprising but thrilling addition. If this is true, it would be the first BTS concert in India, a nation with an enormous ARMY following that has eagerly been waiting for a live show from the K-pop sensation.

The rumored list of stops includes:
