Kareena Kapoor’s Diwali 2025 celebrations included a star-studded party at home in Mumbai, and the party was a red-carpeted Kapoor family affair. Married to Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt was one of the attendees. The actress of Jigra wore a striking golden saree and jacket ensemble, sharing glimpses of the evening on Instagram as “fam jam x diwali glam.”.

Alia was standing alongside her sisters-in-law Kareena and Karisma Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Anissa Malhotra, and Alekha Advani. She also shared close-up photos of her elaborate ensemble, which had been styled by Rhea Kapoor.

The stunning saree, a vintage fashion design from Ritu Kumar’s collection, is a recreation of a design done more than 30 years ago. The attire, termed by Rhea as a tribute to the “Silk Road,” has its usual silver tikki embroidery on rose gold silk. “A fashion history, frozen in thread,” she penned.

The saree featured lacy floral embroidery on the drape and pallu. Alia folded the pallu at the front, letting the craftsmanship take the spotlight. She teamed it with a sleeveless bustier blouse, which featured a plunging sweetheart neck, broad straps, and ornate silver threadwork.

With a dash of royalty added, Alia draped the ensemble in a full-sleeved, open-fronted jacket hand-worked to match the saree. Her accessories included a gold choker, statement mang tika, bracelets, and rings.

Alia had a light but festive makeup look — rose gold eye shadow, feathered brows, dewy skin, rosy cheeks, mascara-loaded lashes, and rose lips. She had her hair done in a simple centre-parted, loose do.

With her mix of vintage sophistication and modern styling, Alia’s Diwali look was a perfect homage to timeless Indian fashion with a fashionable twist.

Filmmaker Karan Johar celebrated Diwali 2025 with warmth, love, and family, sharing a delightful series of photos on Instagram featuring his twins, Yash and Roohi. The trio, dressed in elegant Manish Malhotra-designed ethnic outfits, radiated festive joy as they posed for the camera.

“Happy Diwali to one and all…. May the year be full of light, love and laughter…. From mine to yours … have a happy festive season!!!! Every year we all wear @manishmalhotra05 for the Diwali Pooja,” Karan captioned the post.

The pictures showcased Yash and Roohi as the stars of the celebration. One frame features Roohi holding their pet dog, while other heartwarming images capture the children hugging and kissing their father. The siblings also posed solo, radiating cheer in their vibrant traditional wear.

Karan’s fans flooded the comments with Diwali wishes, admiring the family’s bond and the kids’ festive fashion. “They are so grown up already,” one user noted, while another added, “Big love to the kids!”

This isn’t the first time the filmmaker has shared his family traditions during Diwali. Last year, Karan posted a festive portrait with his mother Hiroo Johar and his children, expressing his gratitude and hopes for love, joy, and mutual respect.

Karan, a proud single father, welcomed Yash and Roohi via surrogacy in 2017. He named his son after his late father, Yash Johar, and his daughter Roohi as a tribute to his mother — an anagram of Hiroo.

Diwali is always a big celebration at the Kapoor household, and this year was no exception. Sonam Kapoor celebrated the festival with a small but intimate Dhanteras Puja on October 18 amidst friends and family. She shared a warm window into the festivities, posting pictures and videos on social media with her husband Anand Ahuja and their three-year-old son, Vayu.

Wearing a beautiful ethnic outfit accompanied by elegant jewellery, Sonam gleamed, while Anand and Vayu attired her in regal off-white kurtas. The photos showed the trio doing puja rituals and enjoying real family moments. Her caption was, “Our hearts (and home) are glowing a little brighter this Diwali. From our little family to yours — wishing you love, laughter & light. Anand, Sonam & Vayu.”

As rumors of her second pregnancy swirled, Sonam also spoke about the Diwali plans of the family. In an interview with Times of India, she shared that they decided on a low-key celebration because of worries over pollution in Mumbai. “Because of the firecrackers and the added pollution, we decided to perform our Dhanteras puja at home and then leave town,” she told. “Since Vayu is little, we’re really careful.

Although she would miss the colorful Diwali gatherings in Mumbai, Sonam delights in showing her son the essence of the festival. “I’ve been telling Vayu why we celebrate Diwali — and festivals like Eid and Christmas as well — so that he can learn about the multiculturalism of India,” she explained.

On the work front, Sonam was most recently seen in the 2023 crime thriller Blind, starring Shome Makhija. The movie was her comeback to the screens after motherhood and starred Purab Kohli, Vinay Pathak, and Lillete Dubey.

Like every year, Bollywood is glowing with festive spirit, and actress Shilpa Shetty is fully embracing the Diwali mood. The Sukhee star recently gave fans a sneak peek into her vibrant Diwali preparations through Instagram Stories, offering glimpses of sweet boxes, festive décor, and heartwarming sibling banter.

In a video shared online, Shilpa captured her sister Shamita Shetty creating a stunning lotus-shaped rangoli by hand. Amused and impressed, Shilpa teased her sister, saying, “Wah, when you have an artist in the house… Wah, Shamita! Very nice, darwaze ke paas bhi karna haan,” followed by her trademark laughter. Shamita, keeping up with the fun, playfully asked, “Anything else?”

Highlighting their different approaches to the tradition, Shilpa shared another clip showing herself using stencils for rangoli while Shamita continued to craft hers meticulously by hand. The two sisters wrapped up their rangoli session by lighting diyas and wishing fans a joyful “Happy Diwali.”

However, amid the celebrations, Shilpa is also dealing with serious legal trouble. She and her husband Raj Kundra are currently facing a ₹60 crore cheating case filed by businessman Deepak Kothari. The complaint alleges that funds invested in Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd, linked to Raj, were misused. The matter is under review in the Bombay High Court.

Despite the controversy, Shilpa is moving forward with her business ventures. She recently launched a new outlet of her restaurant Bastian in Goa, denying rumours of closure. She also revealed that Bandra’s iconic Bastian will be rebranded as Ammakai, a South Indian restaurant, while Bastian Beach Club will open in Juhu.

On the film front, Shilpa will next appear in the Kannada action film KD – The Devil alongside Dhruva Sarja and Sanjay Dutt. Shamita Shetty was last seen in the 2023 film The Tenant.
