Says the director, “The work on the film started three and a half years ago. Before that I had done a few short films, a feature length play and a documentary. I had run out of money and was 24. There was a lot of pressure from my family to earn money. I didn’t want to do a 9-5 job. I had the idea of COURT but I didn’t have the money to develop the script.”
He further adds, “I was really upset and down and that’s when I met Vivek Gomber with whom I had worked with for an English play called Grey Elephants in Denmark. I had written and directed that play and he was my actor. He met me after three years and saw that I was really down and upset. He offered to help me financially for COURT’s script. I found it very awkward to accept the offer because he’s a friend. But he convinced me, and that’s how I started working on the film’s script. After a year of research and interviews and going to courts many times, I had the script of COURT. Vivek really liked the script and offered to become a producer.”
The National Award winning film releases on 17th April, 2015.
