Radhika Apte and her husband, British musician Benedict Taylor, just welcomed their first child and thus began a whole new chapter in the actress’s life. Just a few days back, Radhika had posted a beautiful picture of breastfeeding her one-week-old baby and brought forth discussions and appreciation on the net.
Radhika, while speaking to Vogue, shared how her pregnancy was an unexpected but vital experience. She revealed that she knew she was pregnant almost immediately and began sharing the news the very next day. “It’s such a stupid story, really. I don’t want to make it public, but let’s just say it’s funny how it happened it wasn’t an accident, but we also weren’t trying. And it still came as a shock,” Radhika shared. Radhika also published beautiful pictures from her maternity photoshoot with Vogue, which she did just a week before she gave birth to her child.

Looking back at that period, she confessed to have been struggling to adjust to the changes in her body. “Truth is, I struggled to embrace how I looked at the time. I had never seen myself put on so much weight.”. My body was swollen, I had shooting pains in my pelvis, and the lack of sleep had skewed my perspective on everything.” However, since giving birth, she feels a newfound appreciation for the changes her body underwent, viewing them with much “kinder eyes.” She added, “Now, not even two weeks into motherhood, my body looks different again.”. I can now see only beauty in the changes and know that I will cherish these photos for all eternity. Addressing the challenges of pregnancy, Radhika spoke openly about the physical and emotional struggles many women face, saying, “Most women I know have had tough pregnancies, and honestly, it’s like menopause or your period those hormones are no joke.”* She criticized the societal romanticization of pregnancy, often referred to as the “pregnancy glow,” and called it absurd that people rarely talk about the difficult aspects.
Looking ahead, Radhika shared plans to stay in London till the end of February after which she will return to India to resume work. She was last seen in Sriram Raghavan’s Merry Christmas in a cameo role. Next, she will be seen in ‘Sister Midnight’.
The love story of Radhika and Benedict Taylor began in 2011 when they met in London. They married in a small ceremony in 2012, and the formal ceremony was held in 2013. Their love life has been mostly private, and this is one more lovely addition to their love life.
