Sunidhi Chauhan Breaks Down on Stage in Lucknow: “My Voice Is Gone… I’m So Sorry”

Sunidhi Chauhan became emotional during her Lucknow concert after struggling with a severe throat issue but continued performing, earning huge support from fans.

Even the most seasoned performers sometimes face unexpected challenges on stage, and celebrated playback singer Sunidhi Chauhan recently reminded fans that even the strongest voices can have difficult moments. During a concert in Lucknow, the acclaimed singer became emotional while addressing the audience after revealing that she was struggling to sing because of a severe throat issue.

The performance was part of her ongoing I Am Home India Tour 2025–26, and while the evening was meant to be a high-energy musical celebration, it turned into a heartfelt and deeply human moment when the singer paused to explain her condition to the crowd. Chauhan was performing at Coolbreeze Resorts in Lucknow on March 7 when she suddenly stopped during the show to speak to the audience directly.

Videos from the concert quickly spread across social media platforms, showing the singer visibly emotional as she opened up about her voice not being in its best condition that night. Dressed in a shimmering romper-style jumpsuit, the 42-year-old singer appeared overwhelmed while apologising to the fans who had gathered to watch her live performance. Fighting back tears, she candidly admitted that her throat was in terrible condition and that her voice was far from normal that evening. She told the audience that such a situation had never happened to her before during a live performance and that it felt embarrassing because she always strives to give her absolute best on stage.

As she addressed the crowd, Chauhan expressed her regret and vulnerability in a heartfelt moment that resonated deeply with the audience. She explained that despite the discomfort and the strain on her voice, she still wanted to continue performing because of the love and support she felt from the crowd. The singer apologised sincerely, saying she always tries to deliver a performance at full capacity but feared that on that particular evening she might not be able to meet her own expectations.

Nevertheless, she requested the audience to forgive her in advance if her performance did not sound the way they were used to hearing her. The emotional confession created a powerful moment inside the venue, as fans responded with loud cheers and encouragement. Rather than expressing disappointment, the audience rallied behind the singer, applauding her honesty and determination to continue despite the difficulty. Their enthusiastic support seemed to give Chauhan the confidence to push forward with the show, turning what could have been a disappointing night into an inspiring display of dedication and professionalism.

Despite the throat problem, Chauhan chose not to cancel or cut short the performance. Instead, she carried on with the concert, doing her best to entertain the audience that had come to see her live. Known for her powerful voice and energetic stage presence, the singer has built a reputation over the years as one of India’s most dynamic performers, and her decision to continue the show despite the physical strain demonstrated her commitment to her fans.

The Lucknow concert was part of her extensive nationwide tour, which has been travelling across major Indian cities over the past few months. The I Am Home India Tour 2025–26 began in Mumbai on December 24, 2025, marking the start of a musical journey that celebrates her long and successful career in the Indian music industry. From there, the tour moved to several major cities including Delhi on December 27, Bengaluru on January 17, Ahmedabad on January 31 and Chennai earlier this year, attracting thousands of fans eager to experience her electrifying performances.

Now, the tour is approaching its final leg, with Chauhan preparing for the last show of the series. The concluding performance is scheduled to take place in Kolkata on March 14 at Aquatica Ground. The concert will mark the grand finale of the tour and is expected to draw a massive crowd of music lovers. While the emotional moment in Lucknow revealed a rare vulnerable side of the singer, it also reminded fans why Sunidhi Chauhan remains one of the most respected voices in the industry.

Her willingness to be honest about her struggles and still perform despite the odds demonstrated the passion and dedication that have defined her career for decades. For the audience present that evening, the concert became more than just a musical performance—it turned into a heartfelt moment of connection between an artist and her fans, proving that authenticity and perseverance often leave the most lasting impression.
