Cocktail 2 continued its theatrical run with an estimated collection of ₹1.15 crore on its second Wednesday. The romantic drama recorded a drop of around 25 per cent compared to Tuesday’s collections, but it maintained a steady performance during its second week. With the latest numbers, the film’s total collection has reached ₹79.30 crore nett at the Indian box office.
Directed by Homi Adajania, the film has collected ₹15.30 crore during the first 6 days of its second week. Based on current trends, it is expected to earn around ₹0.90 crore to ₹1 crore on its second Thursday, taking its second week total to nearly ₹16.30 crore. The film is also expected to cross the ₹80 crore nett mark in India by the end of the day.
The film stars Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles. Since its release, Cocktail 2 has performed steadily at the box office, although its collections have slowed after a strong opening weekend. If the current trend continues, trade estimates suggest the film could finish its lifetime run between ₹85 crore and ₹90 crore nett in India. However, its performance in the coming weeks will depend on how well it holds against new releases such as Alpha and Dhamaal 4.
Although the sequel has collected more than the original Cocktail in terms of raw box office numbers, comparisons with the 2012 film remain significant. The first Cocktail earned around ₹74.50 crore nett in India and was considered a clean hit. However, after adjusting for inflation, the original film’s earnings remain stronger in terms of overall box office value. As a result, despite crossing the original’s unadjusted collection, Cocktail 2 is currently expected to fall short of matching its overall commercial success.
The film opened with ₹12.75 crore on its first day, followed by ₹15.50 crore on Day 2 and ₹16.25 crore on Day 3. It collected ₹5.75 crore on both Day 4 and Day 5, followed by ₹4.50 crore on Day 6 and ₹3.50 crore on Day 7. During the second week, it earned ₹3.25 crore on Day 8, ₹4 crore on both Day 9 and Day 10, ₹1.35 crore on Day 11, ₹1.55 crore on Day 12, and an estimated ₹1.15 crore on Day 13.
With the ₹80 crore milestone now within reach, Cocktail 2 will aim to maintain its collections over the coming weeks despite increasing competition from upcoming releases. Its final box office result will largely depend on how well it performs during this competitive period.
