Reports about the birth surfaced after TMZ published photographs showing Plaza carrying a baby in New York. The pictures were reportedly taken after she attended a performance of Death of a Salesman, which was Abbott’s final performance in the Broadway revival. The photographs have added to reports that the couple has welcomed their first child together.
Christopher Abbott played Biff Loman in the Broadway production of Arthur Miller’s classic play. He appeared alongside Nathan Lane and Laurie Metcalf in the revival. His performance also earned him his first Tony Award nomination. Plaza and Abbott attended the 2026 Tony Awards together earlier this year.
Plaza is widely known for her work in television and films. She gained major recognition for playing April Ludgate in Parks and Recreation and has since appeared in projects including The White Lotus and Agatha All Along. Her performance in The White Lotus earned her an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2023. She also co created Prime Video’s animated series Kevin.
Plaza and Abbott have worked together before. The two appeared in the 2020 film Black Bear and later worked together on the Off Broadway production Danny and the Deep Blue Sea.
Plaza was previously married to writer and director Jeff Baena, who was known for films including Life After Beth. Baena died in January 2025.
