Michael, starring Jaafar Jackson in the lead role, continues to perform steadily at the Indian box office. The film added Rs. 1.20 crore on its third Tuesday, taking its total for the third week to Rs. 11.25 crore in 5 days. With its current trend, the movie is expected to end the week at around Rs. 14 crore, which would push its total collection slightly above Rs. 65 crore in India.
Directed by Antoine Fuqua, the musical biographical drama is now expected to finish its full theatrical run at around Rs. 75 crore at the Indian box office. For a biographical drama, this is being seen as a strong performance, especially in a market where franchise based and action heavy Hollywood films usually dominate ticket sales.
With these collections, Michael is likely to become the second highest grossing Hollywood film of 2026 in India after Project Hail Mary. The film has also emerged as a HIT venture, making it the third Hollywood HIT release in India this year after Project Hail Mary and The Mummy directed by Lee Cronin.
Another Hollywood release, The Devil Wears Prada 2, is also reportedly performing well at the box office, although it may finish as a moderate success instead of a major hit.
What makes these results notable is that none of these films belong to the kind of big franchise properties that usually attract large audiences in India. The Indian market has traditionally favoured superhero films, action franchises and established Hollywood brands. However, the success of these films suggests that audiences are also supporting different genres and stories.
The box office collections for Michael in India are as follows:
Week One: Rs. 31.25 crore
Week Two: Rs. 20.50 crore
3rd Friday: Rs. 1.75 crore
3rd Saturday: Rs. 3.50 crore
3rd Sunday: Rs. 3.75 crore
3rd Monday: Rs. 1.05 crore
3rd Tuesday: Rs. 1.20 crore (est.)
Total: Rs. 63 crore
