Michael is continuing its strong run at the Indian box office. The musical biographical drama based on the life of Michael Jackson performed well in its second week and remained steady in theatres across the country.
Starring Jaafar Jackson in the lead role, the film collected around Rs. 20.55 crore during its second week. On its second Thursday alone, the movie earned approximately Rs. 1.55 crore. With this performance, the film’s total India gross collection after 14 days has now reached Rs. 51.80 crore.
The movie recorded only a 30 per cent drop from its first week, which is considered a strong hold at the box office. Trade analysts believe the film is likely to see another jump in collections during its third weekend, which could push the total closer to the Rs. 60 crore mark.
Based on current trends, Michael is expected to finish its overall run in India with collections of around Rs. 75 crore gross. If this happens, it will become one of the biggest Hollywood musical films ever released in the country.
The film has already crossed the collections of earlier successful musical releases in India. Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour had collected around Rs. 13 crore, while Bohemian Rhapsody earned approximately Rs. 7 crore during its Indian run in 2018.
Trade reports have now declared Michael a HIT at the Indian box office. It has become the third successful Hollywood release this year after Project Hail Mary and The Mummy directed by Lee Cronin. Another recent release, The Devil Wears Prada 2, is also performing steadily in theatres.
Industry experts believe these results are important because these films are not based on the kind of major Hollywood franchises that usually perform strongly in India. Many big international releases are still lined up for the rest of the year, and 2026 is now expected to be a strong year for Hollywood films in the Indian market.
The film collected Rs. 31.25 crore in week one, followed by Rs. 4.00 crore on second Friday, Rs. 4.50 crore on second Saturday, Rs. 5.00 crore on second Sunday, Rs. 1.75 crore on second Monday, Rs. 2.00 crore on second Tuesday, Rs. 1.75 crore on second Wednesday and Rs. 1.55 crore on second Thursday.
