In her acceptance speech, Aishwarya expressed how much the award meant to her, not just for her performance as Nandini, but for honoring the efforts of the entire team behind Ponniyin Selvan. She said, “Thank you so very much SIIMA for honouring me with this award. It means the world to me because this was a movie so close to my heart, Ponniyin Selvan, directed by my guru Mani Ratnam. And honouring my work for the best actress as Nandini in Ponniyin Selvan is actually celebrating the work of the entire team.”

In Ponniyin Selvan 2, Aishwarya played dual roles as Nandini and Mandakini Devi. The two-part epic film, based on the renowned Tamil novel by Kalki Krishnamoorthy, boasted a star-studded cast including Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Vikram, and more.
