On Thursday filmmaker Ramesh Sippy, who had originally directed SHOLAY, a day prior to the release, had approached the apex court seeking a stay on the release of the 1975 blockbuster, as per the reports. However, Ramesh Sippy withdrew his petition against the film’s release today from Supreme Court.

Reportedly, the court agreed and disposed of the case. The film released as scheduled.

Ramesh was in dispute with his nephew Sasha over the rights of the film.
