Satyadev’s Telugu action-thriller Zebra has been facing significant struggles at the box office, continuing a pattern of disappointing performances for the actor following a series of recent box office flops. Despite high expectations from fans, the movie’s earnings have been consistently low, and it seems unlikely to turn things around in the coming days.
On its 4th day, the film saw a slight improvement of 0.60% in collections, earning 26 lakhs, up from 6 lakhs on its third day. However, the film’s opening day collections were a mere 4 lakhs, a very low starting point. It did show a slight surge on its second day, earning 55 lakhs, but unfortunately, the numbers dropped again, reflecting the ongoing struggles.
The 4-day total collection stands at 1.81 crore, which is still far from crossing the 2 crore mark. The movie’s box office performance indicates a tough road ahead, especially considering that the film had hoped for better returns, particularly after the actor’s previous string of box-office disappointments, including films like Krishnamma, Godfather, Godse, Gurthunda Seethakalam, and even his appearance in the Akshay Kumar starrer Ram Setu.
While the film has reportedly received positive responses from those who have watched it, this has not yet translated into higher ticket sales, suggesting that word-of-mouth may not be spreading as expected. The film’s budget, though not disclosed, is said to be substantial, and with the current earnings, it seems the movie might struggle to recover its costs.
Directed by Eashvar Karthic, Zebra stars Satyadev, Dhananjaya, Sathyaraj, Priya Bhavnani Shankar, and Amrutha Iyengar in pivotal roles. The film’s music is composed by Ravi Basrur.
Unless there is a significant uptick in audience interest and positive word of mouth, Zebra may join Satyadev’s previous films as another box office failure.
