0

Netflix has officially announced that Emily in Paris will come to an end with its upcoming sixth season. Production on the final installment began on May 21 in Greece, with star Lily Collins and creator Darren Star marking the occasion by sharing behind-the-scenes photos from the set. The final season picks up after the dramatic Season 5 finale, which saw Gabriel send Emily a postcard from Greece, inviting her to meet him there. The new location immediately suggests that the show’s long-running romantic storyline could finally reach its conclusion. Fans have spent years wondering whether Emily and Gabriel would ultimately end up together, and the final season appears poised to answer that question.

Star reflected on the journey of the series, calling it “the trip of a lifetime.” He thanked Netflix, the cast and crew, and the show’s global fanbase for helping turn Emily in Paris into an international phenomenon. He also promised that the final season would deliver a satisfying conclusion to Emily’s story.

Collins shared a heartfelt message for viewers, saying that Season 6 would include everything fans love about the series while serving as the final chapter of Emily’s adventure. She added that the cast and crew are putting their hearts into creating a memorable farewell and expressed gratitude to fans who have supported the show throughout its run.

Originally developed in 2018 for Paramount Network, Emily in Paris eventually moved to Netflix before its debut in 2020. The series quickly became one of the streamer’s most recognizable romantic comedies, spending 32 weeks on Netflix’s Global Top 10 rankings and reaching the number one position in 90 countries.

Beyond its streaming success, the show became a cultural phenomenon. Its fashion-forward style, social media buzz, and romantic storylines helped inspire travel interest in France. The series was even praised by Emmanuel Macron for its contribution to French tourism.

The series follows Emily Cooper, an ambitious marketing executive from Chicago who unexpectedly relocates to Paris for work. Over six seasons, viewers have watched her navigate career challenges, friendships, cultural differences, and complicated romances while building a new life abroad.

Season 6 is expected to provide a definitive ending to Emily’s story as filming continues in Greece before the series takes its final bow on Netflix. For longtime fans, the upcoming season represents the conclusion of one of streaming’s most successful romantic comedy franchises.

Before viral reels existed, this Indian Song broke the Internet across the World

0

Before reels, shorts and viral trends took over the internet, India had its own “Gangnam Style” moment. And it came through a strangely addictive song called Why This Kolaveri Di. Back in 2011, the song exploded across the country so fast that even people who did not understand Tamil were singing “Why this kolaveri kolaveri kolaveri di.” College students, radio stations, celebrities and television channels could not stop talking about it. At a time when social media was still growing in India, the song became one of the country’s first true internet music sensations.

For today’s younger audience, it may look like just another meme song from the past. But “Kolaveri Di” quietly changed the way India consumed music online.

The song came from the Tamil film 3 and was sung and written by Dhanush. The music was composed by Anirudh Ravichander, who was just starting his career at the time. In fact, “Kolaveri Di” was Anirudh’s debut as a film composer. Today, he is one of the biggest music names in Indian cinema, known for massive hits in films like Jawan, Jailer and Leo.

What made the song unique was its simplicity. The lyrics mixed broken English with Tamil slang, creating what people called “Tanglish.” Lines like “eyes-u eyes-u meet-u meet-u” sounded funny, awkward and instantly memorable. Dhanush later revealed that the song was created casually during a jamming session, without anyone expecting it to become historic.

The beats also played a huge role in its success. Anirudh blended simple folk-style rhythms with modern electronic sounds, making the song feel local and global at the same time. Unlike polished Bollywood tracks of that era, “Kolaveri Di” sounded raw, relaxed and real.

Another major reason behind the song’s popularity was the recording video itself. Instead of a glossy music video, audiences saw Dhanush casually singing inside a studio while Shruti Haasan and director Aishwarya Rajinikanth watched in the background. That unfiltered style made people feel like they were witnessing a spontaneous moment rather than a planned commercial product.

At a time when YouTube culture in India was still developing, “Kolaveri Di” became one of the first Indian songs to truly go viral internationally. It introduced millions of non-South Indian listeners to Tamil music and proved that language was no longer a barrier if the vibe connected with people.

More than a decade later, the song still survives through memes, nostalgia and internet culture. But its real legacy is bigger than nostalgia. “Why This Kolaveri Di” showed India that a song did not need perfect English, expensive visuals or traditional formulas to become a nationwide phenomenon.

Sometimes, all it takes is a catchy beat, a funny line and the internet at the right moment.

Aishwarya Rai heads to Cannes 2026

0

For nearly two weeks now, Cannes has carried on with its usual glamour, celebrity appearances and endless red carpet moments, but for many Indian audiences, something felt noticeably missing. Since the festival began on May 12, conversations online kept circling back to one question: where is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan? The curiosity only intensified after L’Oréal Paris unveiled its Cannes campaign visuals without featuring Aishwarya, sparking speculation that she may skip the festival this year.

Social media reactions were immediate, with fans questioning her absence and wondering if this marked the end of an era. But on Thursday night, those rumours finally came to an end when Aishwarya was spotted at the Mumbai airport with daughter Aaradhya Bachchan, leaving for Cannes.

The visuals instantly became viral, not because they were dramatic, but because they felt so familiar. Dressed in co-ordinated black outfits, Aishwarya and Aaradhya moved through the airport quietly while photographers followed closely behind. It was a scene audiences have watched unfold for years now, almost like an unofficial beginning to India’s Cannes coverage every year.

For the airport appearance, Aishwarya kept things elegant and minimal in a black Dhruv Kapoor blazer with matching trousers. She paired the look with Gucci Signoria boots and carried a Gucci Diana handbag that quickly grabbed attention online. With sleek straight hair and her classic red lipstick, the overall styling felt effortless while still carrying the star power people associate with her.

What makes Aishwarya’s Cannes arrival matter every year goes far beyond fashion. It is deeply connected to the history she shares with the festival. She first attended Cannes in 2002 for the premiere of Devdas alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Her yellow Neeta Lulla saree from that appearance still remains one of the most remembered Indian Cannes looks even today. In 2003, she became the first Indian actor to join the Cannes jury while also beginning her long standing association with L’Oréal Paris.

Over the years, her appearances at Cannes have turned into cultural moments of their own. Whether it was the dramatic Michael Cinco gown in 2017 or her saree appearances in recent years, Aishwarya’s red carpet choices have always sparked conversation. Some were celebrated, some debated, but almost all of them stayed memorable.

Perhaps that is why her delayed arrival this year became such a major talking point. It highlighted how deeply audiences connect Aishwarya with Cannes itself. In a time where celebrity culture moves quickly and red carpets are dominated by influencers and viral content, Aishwarya still represents a more classic kind of stardom. Her Cannes appearances feel less like promotional appearances and more like part of a long running cultural memory that audiences continue to return to year after year.

Resident Evil has released new posters ahead of its theatrical release on September 18, 2026. The posters give audiences a first look at the dark and tense atmosphere of the upcoming film. Snow covered highways, empty streets and a feeling of isolation hint at a horror story filled with danger and survival.

The film is directed by Zach Cregger, who is known for horror films like Barbarian and the Oscar nominated film Weapons. With Resident Evil, the director is aiming to bring back the feeling of fear and tension that fans of the game series are familiar with.

Along with the posters, the makers also released a video featuring Zach Cregger talking about his vision for the movie. Explaining his approach, he said, “Resident Evil is the kind of a flagship for horror. Horror, its not action. What I love about survival horror games and Resident Evil mostly is this overwhelming feeling of dread, where it’s like, I have to go down this long dark passageway, I only have two shotgun shells, I know there’s a lot of shit in there waiting for me, and it’s all really bad… but I have to go.”

He further added, “So, I have this idea for a story in the world of resident evil, its kind of like me if I was dropped into the world of resident evil game, I’m terrible at guns, I wouldn’t know how any of them work, I’d miss 99 percent of all of my shots. I love the games. I played the games, I don’t know how many thousands of hours, but too many.”

The story follows Bryan, played by Austin Abrams, who works as a medical courier. What starts as a normal assignment soon turns into a terrifying fight for survival as he becomes trapped in a night filled with chaos and unimaginable horror.

Produced by Columbia Pictures and Constantin Film in association with TriStar Pictures, the movie will release in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Distributed in India by Sony Pictures Entertainment India, Resident Evil will arrive in theatres and Imax screens on September 18, 2026.

Passenger Trailer Promises A Dark Twist On Haunted Road Horror Movies

0

Passenger is an upcoming horror film from Paramount Pictures that explores the idea of haunted roads in a completely different way. Instead of focusing on one cursed highway, the film imagines a world where every road carries something dark and dangerous.

The story begins with a chilling line that sets the tone for the movie: 130 million people take road trips every year. 15,400 of them are never seen again. The film asks a disturbing question about whether the roads themselves were ever truly safe.

Passenger is written by Zachary Donohue and T. W. Burgess. Donohue is known for the 2013 horror film The Den, while Burgess has written several horror stories and graphic novels, including Malevolent and Early Haunts. The two writers were fans of each other’s work before eventually coming together to develop the film.

Speaking about their collaboration, Donohue said, “We had a mutual affinity for each other’s work. Plus, Thom is from England, so stories of hauntings are in his genes.”

Both writers realised during their conversations that they had separately been working on ideas for a haunted road movie. Instead of making two different projects, they decided to combine their ideas into one story.

Burgess explained, “We both had affinity for films like The Hitcher, But we began to wonder, why has no one done something which was supernatural based?”

Donohue added, “Usually these haunted road stories are about someone who died on that road and is now haunting it about a specific haunted road. We wanted to make it broader, something scarier, and just demonic. Where every road is haunted, and they’ve always been haunted.”

The movie follows a young couple whose van life journey turns into a nightmare after they witness a horrific highway accident. Soon, they realise they have unknowingly brought back a demonic force called the Passenger, which refuses to leave them alone.

Directed by André Øvredal, the film stars Jacob Scipio, Lou Llobell and Melissa Leo in key roles. Passenger will release in Indian cinemas on May 29, 2026.

The clip surfaced online on Thursday evening and quickly led to rumours that the actress had secretly tied the knot. In the video, Kangana was seen walking with her security team while dressed in traditional attire. However, it was the mangalsutra around her neck that caught everyone’s attention.

As the video spread online, many social media users started questioning whether Kangana had gotten married without making any public announcement. Several fans were left surprised and curious about her relationship status.

However, reports later clarified that Kangana Ranaut is not married. The viral appearance is reportedly from the shoot of her upcoming film Queen 2, which is currently being made under the tentative title Queen Forever. The actress has reportedly already started filming for the project.

Released in 2013, Queen was directed by Vikas Bahl and became one of the most successful films of Kangana Ranaut’s career.
