Why Audiences Are Crying, Cheering and Praying During Karuppu Screenings

0

Karuppu starring Suriya is enjoying massive success at the box office and has become one of the most talked about Tamil films of the year. Released on May 15, the fantasy action drama has already crossed ₹147 crore worldwide and continues to attract huge crowds in theatres. Apart from its strong earnings, the film is also gaining attention because of the emotional and spiritual reactions from audiences during screenings.

Many videos from theatres have gone viral on social media showing fans becoming highly emotional while watching scenes connected to Karuppusamy, the powerful guardian deity worshipped in Tamil folk traditions. Karuppusamy is considered a symbol of justice, protection, and morality by devotees across Tamil Nadu and other regions. In the film, there are important scenes where Suriya transforms into Karuppusamy, and these moments are creating a deep impact on viewers.

Director RJ Balaji shared an emotional message on social media thanking audiences for the overwhelming love shown towards the film. He said the team never expected such strong reactions from people and revealed that many viewers were crying, praying, and feeling spiritually moved inside theatres. According to him, some audience members even felt as though they had experienced something divine while watching the movie.

RJ Balaji also made a heartfelt request to fans and theatre staff. He asked people to be kind and supportive if they notice someone becoming emotional or overwhelmed during a screening. He advised audiences to help such people by offering water, giving them space, and informing theatre staff if needed. He also requested exhibitors across Tamil Nadu to handle these situations with care and respect.

Meanwhile, Suriya also posted a message thanking theatre owners, employees, distributors, and everyone who helped the film release successfully despite several challenges. He requested fans not to record videos of people who become emotional or ecstatic during scenes involving Karuppusamy. Instead, he urged viewers to provide first aid and support if someone needs help.

Directed by RJ Balaji, Karuppu is a fantasy action drama written by Balaji along with Rathna Kumar, Ashwin Ravichandran, Rahul Raj, TS Gopi Krishnan, and Karan Aravind Kumar. The film also stars Trisha Krishnan along with Indrans, Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, Sshivada, and Supreeth Reddy in important roles.

Within just a few days of release, Karuppu became the highest grossing Tamil film of 2026, proving that audiences are strongly connecting with its mix of action, emotion, spirituality, and cultural roots.

Krishnavataram Creates History as Theatres Turn Into Temples Across India

Krishnavataram is creating a huge impact in cinemas across India and several countries around the world. The film has seen an impressive 92 percent jump in the last 24 hours, making it much more than just a successful movie at the box office. What started as a film release has now turned into a strong emotional and spiritual experience for audiences everywhere.

Across many cities and towns, cinema halls are witnessing scenes rarely seen before. People are singing Krishna bhajans inside theatres, praying together, getting emotional during important scenes, and celebrating Bhagwan Krishna’s story with great devotion. Many viewers are leaving theatres in tears while others are dancing and cheering during key moments in the film. For many families, watching the movie has become a special experience that they want to share with parents, children, and friends.

The excitement around the film is also growing rapidly on social media. Videos of audiences celebrating inside theatres are going viral online, while many people are sharing emotional reviews about how deeply the film touched their hearts. Several fans are requesting cinema owners to increase the number of screens and add extra shows because of the rising demand. People living in countries like Canada, France, and Dubai are also asking for the film to release in more cities and languages so that more devotees can watch it.

One of the biggest reasons behind the film’s success is the emotional connection audiences are feeling with the story. Many viewers are calling Krishnavataram more than just a movie. They describe it as a journey filled with faith, love, and devotion. The film has also managed to connect with audiences across different languages and regions. While the Hindi version is performing strongly, the Telugu and Tamil versions are also receiving tremendous response in South India. Cities like Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bengaluru are seeing packed theatres and energetic audience reactions.

The film has also received praise and blessings from several respected spiritual leaders and public figures. Yogi Adityanath announced the film tax free in Uttar Pradesh and appreciated its cultural and spiritual value. Spiritual leaders like Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and Gaur Gopal Das have also spoken positively about the film and encouraged families to watch it.

At a time when many films focus mainly on action and visual spectacle, Krishnavataram has connected with people on a much deeper level. The film is bringing families together, strengthening devotion, and creating an emotional experience that audiences are carrying with them long after leaving the theatre.

Sreeleela Finally Breaks Silence on Dating Rumours With Tilak Varma

0

Rumours linking actress Sreeleela with Indian cricketer Tilak Varma have now been completely dismissed by both the actress’s family and her team. After several days of gossip and speculation on social media, Sreeleela’s mother, Dr Swarnalatha, stepped forward and made it clear that there is no truth behind the reports. She explained that her daughter is currently fully focused on her acting projects and preparing for her upcoming NEET PG examination scheduled for June.

The rumours started after a fun moment involving Tilak Varma and cricketer Suryakumar Yadav became viral online. In the video, Suryakumar jokingly teased Tilak and said that he was in love. Soon after the clip spread across social media platforms, many users began connecting Tilak’s name with Sreeleela. Several online posts even claimed that the actress and the cricketer had secretly been dating for almost a year. However, there was never any official confirmation from either side.

Speaking to the media, Dr Swarnalatha strongly denied all such rumours. She said that the stories were completely imaginary and that the family was surprised by how quickly false claims spread online. According to her, there is “not even an iota of truth” in the reports suggesting that Sreeleela and Tilak Varma are in a relationship. She also shared that Sreeleela is balancing her education and film career successfully and does not have time to focus on personal matters right now.

Before her mother’s clarification, Sreeleela’s team had also released an official statement rejecting the rumours. The statement said that Sreeleela and Tilak Varma do not even know each other personally. It added that the two have never met or spoken to one another and requested people not to spread fabricated stories without facts.

The speculation became even stronger after social media users claimed that Dr Swarnalatha was seen attending an IPL match between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings in Dharamsala. Some users also alleged that a member of Sreeleela’s team attended the match wearing a jersey with Tilak Varma’s name on it. There were even rumours that the actress and cricketer had followed each other on social media before later unfollowing one another. None of these claims have been officially confirmed.

On the work front, Sreeleela remains busy with multiple projects. She is preparing for her Bollywood debut in filmmaker Anurag Basu’s upcoming film opposite Kartik Aaryan. She also has a Tamil film lined up with actor Dhanush.

Krishnavataram Part 1 Holds Steady In Second Weekend At Box Office

Krishnavataram Part 1: Hridayam continued its run at the Hindi box office with a decent second weekend performance. The mythological fantasy drama collected around Rs. 3 crore nett on its second Sunday, although the figure showed a 30 per cent drop compared to Saturday. The film finished its second weekend with collections of around Rs. 6 crore nett, which is almost similar to its opening weekend performance.

After two weeks in theatres, the total Hindi box office collection of Krishnavataram Part 1: Hridayam has now reached Rs. 17.75 crore nett. Considering that the film does not feature major stars and had a limited release size, the collections are being viewed as reasonable. However, the performance is still not considered strong enough because of the film’s reported high production budget.

Directed by Hardik Gajjar, the film now needs much stronger trends during the coming weeks if it hopes to finish with a respectable lifetime total. Trade observers believe the movie should ideally have shown stronger weekend growth in its second week.

Comparisons are also being made with Mahavatar Narsimha, which released last year. That animated mythological film was based on two avatars of Lord Vishnu and had started with only Rs. 1.25 crore nett on its opening day. However, the film saw massive growth over its first weekend, collecting Rs. 3.25 crore nett on Saturday and Rs. 6.25 crore nett on Sunday. It eventually ended its run with around Rs. 170 crore nett in Hindi.

Krishnavataram, which focuses on the Krishna avatar in a live action format, has not shown a similar level of growth so far. At the same time, trade experts point out that mythological films can often be unpredictable at the box office. Last year, films like Laalo: Krishna Sada Sahayate had very low collections during the initial weeks before suddenly witnessing a sharp rise later in their theatrical run.

The Box Office Collections for Krishnavataram Part 1: The Heart (Hindi) in India are as follows:

Previews: Rs. 0.40 cr.
Friday: Rs. 1.05 cr.
Saturday: Rs. 2.15 cr.
Sunday: Rs. 3.20 cr.
Monday: Rs. 1.05 cr.
Tuesday: Rs. 1.55 cr.
Wednesday: Rs. 1.15 cr.
Thursday: Rs. 1.20 cr.

2nd Friday: Rs. 1.00 cr.
2nd Saturday: Rs. 2.00 cr.
2nd Sunday: Rs. 3.00 cr. (est.)

Total: Rs. 17.75 cr.

Karuppu Gives Suriya His Biggest Box Office Day Ever

Karuppu had an excellent first weekend at the Indian box office and delivered the biggest opening numbers of Suriya’s career. The film collected around Rs. 31.25 crore on Sunday alone, showing a strong 17 per cent jump compared to Saturday. This is now the highest single day collection for any Suriya film, even bigger than the opening day collections of his earlier releases.

With this performance, Karuppu finished its first weekend with an estimated Rs. 76.75 crore gross in India. The total itself is higher than the lifetime collections of all Suriya films released after Singam 3 in 2017. The film started slowly on Friday morning but picked up strongly as the day progressed. By the evening, trade analysts had already started noticing strong audience support. The positive trend continued on Saturday and became even stronger on Sunday.

The film performed well across multiple markets. Tamil Nadu remained the biggest contributor with around Rs. 18.75 crore collected on Sunday alone. The state’s total weekend collection reached around Rs. 46.25 crore. The Telugu dubbed version also performed strongly and collected around Rs. 12.50 crore over the weekend. Karnataka and Kerala also delivered good support to the film.

Karuppu is now being called a SUPER HIT and could eventually reach BLOCKBUSTER status depending on how stable the collections remain during weekdays and in the coming weeks. For Suriya, this marks an important comeback at the box office after a long period without a major theatrical success. His last clear HIT film was Singam II released in 2013.

During the early 2010s, Suriya was considered one of the biggest stars in South Indian cinema and delivered several successful films regularly. However, the following years proved difficult at the box office. Some films opened well but failed to continue because of weak audience response, while others received appreciation but could not attract a strong opening. Two of his critically appreciated films were also released directly on digital platforms during the COVID period, limiting their theatrical potential.

With Karuppu, things appear to have finally come together for the actor, both in terms of audience response and box office collections.

The Territorial Breakdown for Box Office Collection for Karuppu in India is as follows:

Tamil Nadu: Rs. 46.25 cr.
APTS: Rs. 12.50 cr.
Karnataka: Rs. 10.00 cr.
Kerala: Rs. 6.75 cr.
Rest of India: Rs. 1.25 cr.

INDIA: Rs. 76.75 cr.

Gaurav Khanna Shares First Glimpses From Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 Shoot

0

Television actor Gaurav Khanna has reached Cape Town for the shoot of Khatron Ke Khiladi season 15. The stunt based reality show, hosted by Rohit Shetty, is set to begin filming soon, and fans have been eagerly waiting for updates from the contestants.

On Sunday, Gaurav shared several pictures and videos from Cape Town on social media. In one of the photos, he posed for a group selfie along with fellow contestants including Jasmin Bhasin, Orry, Avinash Mishra, Harsh Gujral, Karan Wahi, Rithvikk Dhanjani and Ruhaanika Dhawan while exploring the city before the shoot. Another photo also featured Vishal Aditya Singh.

Sharing the pictures online, Gaurav wrote, “Ok so here we are…..#kkk #capetown #calmbeforethestorm #itbegins.” He also posted a fun reel with Orry, Rithvikk and Harsh, giving fans a glimpse of the bond between contestants before the competition officially starts.

Recently, Gaurav Khanna also opened up about how his mother reacted when she learned he would participate in the stunt based reality show. The actor revealed that she was initially very worried about his safety because of the dangerous stunts involved.

“My mother was very worried when she found out I’m doing Khatron Ke Khiladi. During Bigg Boss, whenever things got emotionally intense inside the house, she would get stressed watching everything from outside. There were moments when she would start hyperventilating while watching me under pressure on the show. For her, Khatron Ke Khiladi felt even tougher because this isn’t just mental pressure; it’s physical as well,” he said.

He further added, “Her biggest concern was safety. She kept asking me what kind of stunts we’ll be doing, how everything works, and whether it’s all safe there. For the first few days, she kept telling me not to do the show. I had to reassure her that there’s a proper team handling everything and that every precaution is taken. I think for any mother, watching her child step into something so unpredictable is never easy. She’s still worried, though she’s mildly convinced as she is packing all my favourite snacks – besan ke laddu being one of them.”

This season of Khatron Ke Khiladi will feature contestants such as Rubina Dilaik, Avika Gor and Shagun Sharma along with several other television personalities and content creators.
