Southern star Vijay Deverakonda recently took a break from his busy schedule and enjoyed some quiet family time after rain forced the cancellation of his shoot. The actor shared a sweet picture on Instagram where he could be seen sleeping between his parents. The simple moment appeared to remind him of his childhood and gave him a chance to relax at one of his favourite spots.
Sharing the picture on Wednesday, Vijay wrote, “Rains Canceled shoots – You get an afternoon nap in your favourite spot as a kid ❤️ Recovery – 1000% (sic).” The actor also credited his wife and actress Rashmika Mandanna for clicking the picture. The post offered fans a glimpse of Vijay enjoying a peaceful moment away from his professional commitments.
Vijay and Rashmika are set to appear together in the upcoming period drama Ranabaali. The film will be their third project together after Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade. It will also mark their first on screen collaboration as a married couple after their marriage in February this year.
Vijay has previously spoken warmly about his association with Ranabaali director Rahul Sankrityan. On June 29, he shared a heartfelt birthday message for the filmmaker and praised his dedication to storytelling.
“Happy Birthday, dearest Rah… Nine years after Taxiwaala, while we have grown into men, nothing has changed about your relentless passion to write meaningful stories and your calm obsession in bringing them to life,” he wrote. “In just 2 films we have fought many battles and odds and saw our 1st film through big love and success. I am right by your side while we do it again 🙂 May the gods always favour you, guiding every story you choose to tell. I’m truly blessed and happy to be – #Ranabaali Written & Directed by Rahul Sankrityan. Excited for the world to see your work,” he added.
According to reports, Ranabaali is inspired by real incidents from the 1850s that have not been widely discussed in mainstream history books. The story is reportedly expected to explore historical events that were allegedly presented differently in British accounts.
For now, Vijay’s rain cancelled shoot gave him an unexpected opportunity to return to a familiar childhood spot, spend time with his parents and enjoy what he described as a much needed afternoon nap.
